Linux Engineer

The Linux Team is dedicated to high-quality work supporting the ecosystem around the Data Engineering and Developer Teams at IEX.

From bare-metal servers to backend storage and virtualization infrastructure to cloud deployments and CI/CD pipelines, we present engineers and developers with the tools and platforms they need to focus on what they are best at: data analysis and building great products.

The IEX Linux Team is looking for candidates that have several years of Linux Admin experience as well as some exposure to Cloud.  The ideal folks are team players, take ownership of problems and their solutions, and are clear communicators.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Design and implement Linux container/virtualization deployment
• Design and implement Linux change management system
• Design and develop infrastructure monitoring and reporting tools
• Manage the deployment, maintenance, and upgrade process of systems
• Create comprehensive documentation to a level by which processes are reproducible by others
• Support the administration of user accounts and entitlements

Job Qualifications:

• Proficiency in On-Prem Baremetal, Cloud (Azure, GCP, or AWS)
• Scripting experience (e.g., shell, Python, Bash), Fun to Haves: Terraform, Go, Rust
• Experience with Ansible, CI/CD pipelines
• Experience in Linux OS Administration
• Experience in Basic Networking

Our job titles may span more than one career level. The starting base pay is $115,000 - $150,000 for this NY-based position. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands. The annual base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
