Linux System Administrator

Description

We are seeking a Linux System Administrator to join our Infrastructure Team! The Linux System Administrator will be responsible for managing and maintaining the Linux systems in the Tyler Federal Infastructure. The Linux Admin will serve as a Tier 1 & 2 point-of-contact for supporting both cloud and datacenter systems as well as implementing new solutions.

Responsibilities

• Provide Tier 1 & 2 Linux technical support and troubleshooting for the infrastructure and server team.
• Analyze and maintain Red Hat Enterprise Linux resource utilization.
• Respond to trouble tickets generated by internal clients.
• Maintain technical documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelors' degree in Computer Science or similar, or comparable work experience.
• Typically requires 3+ years of IT experience in a business environment.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Products and a basic understanding of Microsoft Windows Server and Desktops.
• Strong understanding of RedHat, CentOS Linux, or any Unix operating systems is required.
• Strong understanding of DNS and Certificate management.
• Familiar with RHEL Satellite.
• Basic understanding of shell scripting, Information Security, Network, Storage, and Server Operating Systems.
• Ability to take direction and work with guidance from senior team members.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills.
• Familiar with SNMP, SMTP, TLS, HAP, Vi, Apache, Tomcat and network protocols
• Helpful (but not required) certifications: CompTIA Security+; Microsoft MTA Certifications; Amazon Web Services (AWS); RHCSA; VMWare/VMC familiarity
