The Leave of Absence Coordinator is responsible for the intake process, support and administration of absence programs including disability, life insurance, FMLA, ADA, PWFA, medical leave, military leave, personal leave, workers compensation and state and private plans. The Leave of Absence Coordinator is the point of contact for all leave of absence requests, working closely with the third-party vendor to ensure accurate and timely processing, tracking and communication to support employees and managers. The Leave of Absence Coordinator plays a vital role in maintaining a smooth transition for employees during their leave and upon their return.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Receive and review leave of absence requests from employees.
  • Assess the eligibility of employees for different types of leaves and ensure compliance with legal requirements and company policies.
  • Coordinate with employees and managers to gather necessary documentation and information.
  • Track, communicate, and process all leave of absences in partnership with the third-party vendor, HRBP, operations and the employee.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential leave records for all employees on leave and ensure that all documentation and records related to leaves are organized and easily accessible for compliance and reporting.
  • Stay informed about changes in leave laws and regulations to ensure ongoing compliance.
  • Monitor the leave of absence employee mailbox, responding to inquiries, requests, and concerns promptly and professionally.
  • Document all leave of absences in Workday and file all related leave of absence documentation in the employee file in Workday.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1-3 years of human resources experience in corporate environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Advanced knowledge of the Microsoft suite and systems, with strong Excel skills
  • Self-directed with excellent organizational skills
  • Excellent time management skills, organization, and ability to work with competing priorities
  • Emphasis on accuracy, attention to detail, reliability, and confidentiality

Preferred Skills/Abilities:

  • 2+ years experience with leave of absence administration including but not limited to FMLA, ADA, STD, and LTD

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer, typically in a cubicle environment (constant noise, fluorescent overhead lighting)
