The Localization Specialist will work independently to localize and maintain all technical content, training resources, marketing materials, and customer-facing communications related to our products and services. In addition to working alongside our Senior Localization Specialists to Localize the Cloudbeds platform, the localization specialist will act as a mentor to other team members. 

Essential Functions:

  • Own the localization and maintenance of all technical documentation, user guides, manuals, video assets, marketing materials, and API documentation for our products and services. Ensure documentation is accurate, comprehensive, and accessible to clients and internal teams.
  • Collaborate with senior team members in creating and implementing standardized localization guidelines that adhere to the organization's brand voice.
  • Collaborate with senior team members to improve Localization efforts based on feedback and metrics. 
  • Conduct regular reviews and rigorous quality checks on Localized content to ensure accuracy, clarity, and completeness. Address discrepancies and inconsistencies promptly.
  • Localize marketing materials to communicate product features, benefits, and value propositions to global markets.
  • Localize customer-facing communications, including emails, support documents, and other correspondence, maintaining a customer-centric approach.
  • Stay informed about global market trends, linguistic preferences, and cultural nuances to inform localization strategies.
  • Collaborate with the Training & Enablement Specialists to align localization efforts with overall business objectives.
  • Collaborate with team members, including mentoring Associate Localization Specialists and providing guidance to ensure consistent and high-quality localization output.

Secondary Functions (Preferred skills):

  • All other duties or special projects as assigned. 

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

  • Proficiency in the languages involved in the localization process (Spanish), ensuring accurate translation and cultural adaptation.
  • Understanding of technical terminology and concepts related to the SaaS industry to effectively translate technical content.
  • Strong translation and localization skills, emphasizing maintaining accuracy, consistency, and context relevance.
  • A keen eye for detail to catch nuances in language and ensure high-quality translations that meet industry standards.
  • Effective communication skills to collaborate with the Localization Specialist, developers, and other team members.
  • Cultural sensitivity and awareness to adapt content appropriately 
  • Ability to manage time effectively, especially when dealing with tight deadlines for content localization.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to learn new technologies and stay updated on industry trends.
  • Proficient project management and communication skills to effectively address inquiries and provide updates on localization progress.
  • Ability to manage time effectively, especially when dealing with tight deadlines for content localization.
  • Comfort with incorporating AI technology into the translation process.
  • Experience with Computer-Assisted Translation (CAT) tools to enhance efficiency and consistency in the translation process. 

Education & Experience:

  • 2 years of experience with localization and/or translation
  • Proven experience in the hospitality industry and knowledge of hospitality-specific terminology
  • Bachelor's Degree or higher (formal education in translation, linguistics, or related field) OR High School Diploma / GED (or higher)
  • At least 1 year of experience with localization management software

Working Conditions & Physical Demands:

  • You will primarily work remotely from a home office.
  • Up to 10% travel will be required for this role.
  • Physical demands of the job include: remaining in a stationary position for extended periods of time; constantly operate a computer; occasionally operate other office equipment (printer, phone, calculator); constantly detect, discern and utilize programs and tools on a computer; constantly communicate and converse with others through computer programs and tools; constantly distinguish speech or other sounds over Zoom, telephone, etc.
