Logistics Analyst

Job Summary:

We are looking for a Logistics Analyst to conduct data analysis to improve our supply chain operations. Your job will help us find and increase efficiencies and reduce costs.  You will work with Grainger and Zoro supply chain partners, including third party logistics firms, to execute order and fulfillment activity through drop ship operations in a manner that enhances the customer experience and the company’s inventory/logistics objectives.

Duties and Responsibilities: 

• You will gather and analyze supply chain data to identify problematic areas and suggest improvements while creating processes and methods to optimize performance.
• You will plan and implement supply chain optimization projects.
• You will develop requirements and standards and oversee inventory procedures.
• You will discover the most cost-effective shipping methods while evaluating vendor operations (e.g. freight forwarders) according to quality standards.
• You will help foster trusting relationships with business partners and collaborate with IT professionals to implement effective systems.
• You will track KPIs and report on supply chain performance.
• You will provide coverage for warehouse operations as needed

Minimum Qualifications:

• You should have an analytical mind and strong business acumen. Problem-solving skills and attention to detail are essential.
• Familiarity with supply chain processes (e.g.inventory planning, transportation, supplier or warehouse management) 
• Working knowledge of MS Office, relational databases and ERP systems (e.g. SAP)

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree preferred or equivalent experience in logistics, manufacturing, operations, inventory management or other supply chain processes
• Experience in Continual Improvement (e.g. green/black belt), project management, data mining, analytics and reporting
• Demonstrated ability to embrace change and agility in relation to change
