Job Description
We, on behalf of our partners, are seeking a results-driven Logistics Manager to run a team of talented professionals, ensuring quality and efficiency in logistics operations.
Mission:
As a Logistics Manager,you will be in charge of ensuring efficient and cost-effective allocation of resources, optimizing the flow of products, materials, and information within the plant's logistics operations. This role is pivotal in driving operational excellence, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards, and fostering continuous improvement to support the company's production and service goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Optimize Logistics Operations
- Plan, coordinate, and monitor the storage and flow of materials, products, and information to ensure seamless supply chain operations.
- Manage inbound and outbound logistics to meet service-level requirements for the plant's mills.
- Develop and implement strategies to optimize space utilization in warehouses and yards, ensuring cost and service standards are met.
- People and Resource Management
- Oversee workforce planning, including shift scheduling, staffing, and third-party personnel management.
- Delegate responsibilities effectively, providing staff with necessary resources and support.
- Foster team development through competency-based evaluations and training programs.
- Process Improvement and Compliance
- Analyze logistics processes, identifying areas for improvement and implementing actions to enhance efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment), quality assurance, and regulatory standards.
- Consult with internal and external stakeholders to refine logistics network operations.
- Performance Monitoring and Reporting
- Track and report on logistics KPIs, including intra-logistics costs, port operations, and daily shipment activities.
- Provide regular updates to senior management on budgets, schedules, and any issues impacting operations.
- Project Management and Maintenance
- Lead logistics projects, ensuring timely execution and adherence to budgets.
- Collaborate with the Maintenance Department to ensure proper upkeep of logistics machinery and equipment.
Must Have
- 3+ years of experience in logistics operations (preferably in a heavy industry environment).
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Logistics.
- Strong systems skills, including proficiency with integrated ERP applications (e.g., SAP).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Greek and English.
- Knowledge of end-to-end logistics operations (including maritime, over-the-road, rail, customs, and warehousing).
Nice to Have
- 2+ years of experience in project management or a leadership position.
- Field engineer work experience.
