Job Description

Job Summary
The Logistics Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of transportation, logistics compliance, and warehouse operations and lease management. This position is responsible for seamless integration of all eMed logistics operations (including external international and domestic 3PL partners) and trade compliance and manages initiatives to consistently improve service levels, reducing costs through innovation, and maintaining highest possible safety protocols for all operational staff.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Define and enforce best practices with respect to Logistics, Transportation and Trade Compliance.
  • Create and document processes and procedures related to logistics processes
  • Enforce established processes and procedures related to logistics data quality and reporting (freight table accuracy, etc.).
  • Negotiate freight agreements to reduce transportation costs and improve service levels.
  • Oversee the design, implementation and management of the optimal network of carriers, consolidators, pool points, off-site backroom operations and third-party providers.
  • Ensure TMS, Freight Payment/Audit, Appointment Scheduling, Shipment/Carton tracking, BOL and SLA metrics are current and appropriate.
  • Lead teams to resolve logistical challenges that hinder flow of product through the supply chain.
  • Proactively provide expertise with other team members as requested or as needed.
  • Stays up to date on professional knowledge and retail trends.
  • Provide proactive support to colleagues in leadership roles within Sourcing and Procurement, Finance, Technology, etc.
  • Participate in meetings with elite level clients as needed/requested.
  • Meet or exceed annual goals with respect to efficient and seamless movement of product from receipt through ultimate delivery.
  • Manage operations to meet or exceed budget.
  • Meet or exceed annual goals with respect to chosen warehouse operation scorecard metrics (Accuracy in inventory, accuracy in order management, safety results, etc.).

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft office applications (Excel, Power Point, Outlook and Microsoft Project)
  • Knowledge of Warehouse and Transportation Management Systems


Qualifications

  • BA/BS with a major in Business, Logistics, Engineering or equivalent work experience. MBA or Masters in Supply Chain Logistics desired
  • Minimum of 7+ years’ experience in leadership/management roles related to distribution, transportation, or logistics within a national multi-warehouse model of comparable scale and scope and ideally some international operations as well.
