As a Logistics Manager II, you'll be responsible for assisting with the planning and execution of contract related logistics efforts and successfully managing all logistics and depot support issues for our programs. You'll oversee and control the resources required to execute contracts in a cost effective and timely manner, interface with the customer and support customer requests, maintain overall responsibility for the logistics support function, and the development and execution of customer training programs and materials.
Sierra Space-based in Louisville, CO with operations in Madison, WI, Durham, NC, Huntsville, AL, Houston, TX, and Kennedy Space Center, FL-designs and manufactures the Dream Chaser spaceplane and other advanced spacecraft, commercial space destinations, satellites, propulsion and environmental systems, spacecraft subsystems and components for the U.S. government (including NASA), commercial customers, and international organizations. Primary Responsibilities:
Coordinates movement of GSE and all associated hardware across all facilities in support of vehicle processing. This position will work closely with the Ground Ops Flow manager and be the POC for all Ground Ops stakeholders. Be the Lead to integrate with all facilities for space allocation and necessary modification (NASA, Custodial Storage, RLV, TP3 and 1092). Additional job scope includes Inventory management, process development for GSE transportation, and facility / operations support.
Job Scope:
- Develop and coordinate GSE movements to support Florida Ops
- Work closely with Flow Manager to schedule jobs
- POC for external logistic companies
- POC between Sierra Space and NASA for all GSE movements and Program + NASA Facility integrations
- POC for Ground Ops - scheduling GSE movement, storage, supporting inbound and outbound, and any operations requiring NASA integrations.
- Coordinate and oversee all loading and unloading of equipment
- Define and implement GSE movement process
- Inventory Management - working closely with engineering on calibrated equipment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Facilitate minor facility improvements/adjustments to accommodate occupants / Program and work with Real Estate and Facilities to assist in major facility improvements/projects at KSC and Huntsville.
- Act as the operation integrator between Sierra Space facilities in Florida
Must-haves:
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, or related field of study
- Related experience may be considered in lieu of required education
- In-depth understanding of ITAR regulations as they apply to the import and export of goods
- Relevant experience working with logistics/warehouse environment and warehouse management systems
- Progressive experience with the practical application of Supply Chain/Logistics principles and techniques
- Ability to travel extensively, often overseas
- Prior experience with handling and managing hazardous/dangerous goods and materials
- Previous management experience: the ability to recruit employees; assign, direct, and evaluate their work; and oversee the development and maintenance of staff competence
Preferred:
- Typically, 4-6 years of relevant experience
- A higher-level degree may substitute for experience
- Familiarity with operating military units, airborne SIGINT systems and aircraft sensor equipment
- Understanding of third-party shipping vendors and requirements
- Current Commercial Driver's License (CDL) and clean driving record
- Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry, the US Department of Defense or US Military
- The ability to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance may be required. Learn more about the background check process for Security Clearances
Physical/Mental/Emotional Requirements:
- Frequently walk, sit, stand, climb stairs and steps
- Frequently repeat same hand, arm, and finger motion many times to include finger and hand dexterity
- Frequently requires vision abilities to include close, distance, depth perception, and telling the difference between colors
- Occasionally requires hearing abilities to include discerning different tones and volumes
- Frequently lifting or carrying up to 50 lbs.
Working Conditions:
- Occasionally exposed to outdoor elements (high/low temperatures, sun, rain/snow, etc.)
- Occasionally exposed to fumes or hazardous chemicals/materials
- Occasionally exposed to loud noises

Estimated Starting Salary Range:
$95,298.10 - $142,947.16
Sierra Space offers annual incentive pay based upon performance that is commensurate with the level of the position.
