Logistics Planning Coordinator – Service Operations
The Logistics Master Planner is responsible for planning and administering a strategic schedule for mobile health testing trailers operating throughout the Continental US. This “hands on” position requires knowledge of geography, familiarity with industrial shift assignments and staffing models, and a thorough understanding of the tasks involved in routing equipment and resources across numerous separate geographic regions in a timely manner. The best candidate will excel at problem-solving and possess exceptional critical thinking skills and an ability to function under pressure.
Responsibilities:
- Manage a database Planning Module to control target date(s) of assignments.
- Utilize mapping software, historical data, and previous schedules to plan overall direction for a fleet of mobile testing trailer units and teams.
- Prepare “provisional calendars” to optimize routing and minimize empty travel and assign projects to provisional regional calendar plans for each mobile unit.
- Work collaboratively with tactical staff who will execute the scheduled plan.
- Continuously edit calendar plans based upon customer feedback or specific requests from individual customer locations or their corporate supervisors while managing the efficiency of each regional calendar plan as it comes together.
- Work with the Fleet manager to reschedule any appointments lost to mechanical or weather-related cancellations.
- Maintain an 8-week advance calendar plan for each mobile unit for each mobile unit to be scheduled at least 4 weeks in advance of testing appointments.
- Manage/balance customer preferences and requirements in view of service hours worked of field staff on a daily/weekly basis.
Skills:
- Analytical background in logistics, fleet management, and corporate staffing models
- Solid foundation in current hours of service DOT regulations.
- Adaptability.
- Tolerance for continuously changing circumstances within a fast-paced, team environment
Certifications & Requirements:
- A 4-Yr University degree (BS/BA) in logistics, materials management, transportation with minimum 5 years work experience.
- Outstanding communication skills both oral and written.
Salary Range: Based on experience.
