Job Description

Hitachi Energy is seeking a Logistics Process Engineer for our Jefferson City, MO location. This role is responsible for handling tasks related to logistics activities and inventory control with respect to part receipt, storage, picking, presentation, and delivery strategies.

Key responsibilities

  • Leads process improvement initiatives within receiving, warehouse and material distribution process.
  • Improves material availability and inventory accuracy through the development of processes, procedures, and the creation of standard work.
  • Works closely with partner teams in engineering, procurement, and operations to maintain accurate PFEP data.
  • Assist in the development and execution of process improvements projects within supporting manufacturing areas.
  • Participate in the investigation of material shortage issues developing process improvements and corrective actions.
  • Involves, collaborates, and communicates with employees at all levels of the organization to achieve the plant and department goals and objectives.
  • Monitors work to ensure quality, uses data to communicate, displays commitment to excellence, complete projects on time and budget.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Degree concentration preferably in engineering, data analytics, logistics, operations management or a similar field with 2 to 5 years experience
  • High school diploma/GED plus 6 or more years warehousing, logistics, or manufacturing experience may be considered in lieu of a Bachelors Degree
  • High proficiency in Excel
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to get results through investigation/follow-through, and employee motivation
  • Sense of responsibility, ownership, and pride in delivering quality results and understanding the business impact
  • Strong time management and organization skills with the ability to balance and prioritize task

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Adept at IT systems and Microsoft Office products - Excel, Power Point, Word, and Visio
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment
  • An understanding of warehouse operations and supply chain processes
  • Experience with Power BI
  • Experience with SAP
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD
  • Understanding and application of lean methodology
