Logistics Specialist

Tarkett is looking for a Logistics Specialist to join our team in the Middlefield Distribution Center.

The Logistics Specials position is responsible to ensure all outgoing billing, packing lists, and administrative paperwork necessary is completed and given to the correct route manager. Ensures all billing material and paperwork document are updated and correct. This role supports continuous distribution shifts and is located in Middlefield, Ohio.

ESSESNTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Primarily responsible for planning small parcel/package, LTL and expedites and communication to our carrier base for on-time order delivery
• Meet customer requirements and delivery schedule; ensure customer satisfaction with transportation services and issue resolution.
• Liaison between warehouse operations, customer service and carriers when it pertains to delivery timing and service 
• Accurately prepare and administer official transport documents, including bills of lading, air waybills, packing slips, trailer load manifests and commercial invoices for international transport as required
• Utilize SAP to navigate shipping, receiving, and billing of orders
• Assist in the coordination of inbound carrier/outbound carriers with regards to paperwork receipt, dock placement, and customer service functions
• Ensure outbound paperwork is completed and accurate in full for all shipments
• Follow and enforce company policies and procedures (i.e. Human Resources, Safety, Quality & Environment).
• Provide freight quotes and other requests for customer service associates.
• Shipping document generation and review for accuracy.
• Perform special projects / tasks as required by the management team.
• Assist warehouse associates with SAP related issues.
• Responsible for ordering supplies and maintaining inventory
• All other duties as directed by the management team.

REQUIREMENTS (including educational requirements)

• Strong Microsoft Excel experience; SAP experience would be an asse
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suites
• Experience operating ERP or CRM program, SAP is desired
• 1-3 years of warehousing experience, supply chain, and/or logistics
• Ability to comply with existing safety standards
• Tow-motor certified or ability to become certified
• High School diploma or equivalent-required
• Proven track record of good communication and teamwork
• Consistently good record of attendance / punctuality
• Proven problem solving skills
• Strong organizational skills and maintain a well-kept work area
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment with frequent distractions and interruptions along with multiple demands from other associates, managers and customers
