Logistics:
- Manage the movement of material between all Lunar partners - vendors, contract manufacturers, offsite storage facility and customers (all modes - ocean, air and ground)
- Scheduling and Coordinating transportation providers to ensure prompt and proper movement of shipments.
- Data entry of important shipment milestones within the ERP system
- Evaluate and review the company’s logistics operations business practices, update and develop process documentation, streamline opportunities, and eliminate non-value-added activities.
- Direct investigations to verify and resolve customer or shipper questions or claims or any pending issues.
- Identify, vet, and down select carriers, brokers, and external logistics partners with management sign off
- Partner with internal and external resources to develop cost-to-serve metrics and reduction activities, including routing guide decision tree for optimization with suppliers and customers
- Develop and evaluate metrics to assess logistics performance, identify opportunities, and implement enhancements that improve service to customers, optimize inventory investment, and achieve best total cost of ownership of the supply chain
- Manage hazmat transportation (Class 9)
Trade Compliance
- Ownership of Import / Export process flows.
- Determine the HTS and ECCN codes for raw materials, sub-assemblies and finished goods
- Maintain and drive periodic updates to Import & Export Compliance policies and procedures
- Analyze and provide recommendations to the supply chain manager on how to structure the production to minimize the tariff and duty impact
- Manage international import strategy including tracking of duties, tariffs, and fees
- Ensure supply chain compliance with state, federal, and international regulations
- Manage all post approval activities such as record keeping, reporting requirements, approvals for data exports and international shipping authorizations
- Manage bonded and non-bonded flow across borders.
- Drive duty drawback initiatives as and when required
Fulfillment and Distribution
- Define and own the fulfillment strategy for the company’s needs
- Develop and oversee processes for the management of transportation initiatives, including liaising between transport companies, negotiating contracts, coordinating deliveries, and enforcing deadlines, implementing 3PL onboarding programs, sourcing new carriers, and ensuring compliance with international commercial terms (INCOTERMS).
- Onboard and train internal and external (3PL) team members, including shipping and warehouse personnel. Supervise and train external partners, such as Customs Broker, on internal policies as needed.
Partner Relationship
- Manage successful relationships with 3PL warehouse(s), brokers, freight forwarders to ensure efficient and effective execution. Conduct regular QBR meetings, root cause analysis on performance gaps, maintain KPI’s to drive improvement and negotiate contracts, while working with the Indirect Procurement team.
- Travel and audit existing warehouses and partners to ensure processes are being maintained to Lunar Standards.

Desired Skills:
- 7 years’ experience in transportation and trade compliance, preferably in a manufacturing environment
- Experience with a formal transportation management or warehouse management system
- Demonstration of excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and ability to relate with all levels within an organization.
- Customs compliance experience. Customs Broker License strongly preferred
- Strong understanding of HTS/ECCN classifications and the commerce control list
- Experience working with 3PL providers or managing owned warehouse and distribution facilities
- Strong understanding of hazmat transportation
- Ability to manage multiple cross-functional and cross-organizational projects.
- Interpersonal skills to deal effectively with all levels of the organization.
- Proficient in the use of Google Suite

Our Compensation Philosophy: Our goal is to ensure that all Lunar Energy employees are fairly compensated. Please note that the salary range information that follows is a good faith estimate for this position provided pursuant to the Pay Transparency for Pay Equity Act for California applicants. The salary range estimate for this position depending on level of experience is: $110,000 - $155,000 USD.
The actual offer, reflecting the total compensation package & benefits, will be at the company’s sole discretion, and determined by factors including but not limited to years of experience, job level, geographic location, and other relevant business considerations.
