Long Haul OSP Inspector - CONTRACTOR

Zayo is seeking a Long Haul OSP Inspector (Contract) for a project across IL, IA & into NE for CHI-OMA. Our Long Haul OSP Inspector will serve as the day to day eyes or Zayo in the field regarding construction contractor, RR contacts where needed and local ROW jurisdictions.
Responsibilities:

• Daily field inspection of crew/crews working along this CHI-OMA LH overpull project to ensure project timelines are met.
• Submit daily reporting of production, field conditions, issues encountered & potential resolve to the issues encountered.
• Perform job site assessments upon arrival and throughout the day to ensure crews meet requirements for traffic control, safety and fire mitigation.
• Contractor will interact with all ROW jurisdictions including DOTs, railroad, county, state, etc.
• Daily updates of project documentation where appropriate.
• Daily communication of production and field conditions with Zayo OSP PM and OSP Director.
• Reporting of any unsafe field conditions encountered.
• Immediately report all notable events to Zayo management.
• Provides specialized telecommunications expertise.
• Being in the OSP/outdoor environment to provide details of materials, issues of concern, materials management at the Zayo designated yards & locations, etc

Qualifications:

• Position requires the use of computer to fill out & submit the daily reporting, as well as being on-site daily along the route.
• Knowledge and use of kmz will also be required on occasion.
• Willingness to work some overtime when necessary or conditions require.
• Travel to work sites is mandatory. Inspectors will remain on site throughout the week and may return home for weekends except when conditions do not allow.
