About Long Term Private Capital
Long Term Private Capital ("LTPC") is BlackRock's direct private equity fund and a differentiated approach to traditional private equity. LTPC's strategy is to invest in high quality companies with outstanding management teams and leverage our global resources to actively support growth opportunities. LTPC's permanent capital enables a flexible hold period and a more prudent approach to leverage in order to support growth and maximize long term investor returns. The team seeks to deploy capital primarily in North America and Western Europe and is expected to grow its asset under management over time through both capital appreciation and new investor commitments in one permanent investing vehicle.
Job Summary
BlackRock is seeking a highly motivated and experienced private equity investment professional to join its Long Term Private Capital team. The role, based in New York, is a unique opportunity to help build a differentiated approach to private equity. This individual is expected to have a clear understanding of, prior experience in and the ability to drive the private equity investment process, including working with management and advisors to evaluate investment opportunities, executing transactions from legal negotiation to operational coordination, and monitoring portfolio companies.
Due to the long term nature of LTPC's portfolio holdings, this position is well suited for a high performer interested in making long term, strategic investments and creating partnerships with portfolio companies to build lasting value.
Key responsibilities
- Partner with investment colleagues in all aspects of investment sourcing, evaluation, transaction structuring, execution, value creation, and monitoring through hands-on leadership of the internal deal team and close coordination with target company management and third party advisors.
- Effectively conduct all aspects of an investment, including due diligence, deal structuring, financial modeling, valuation, negotiation, execution, value creation and monitoring according to investment guidelines.
- Develop in-depth knowledge of companies and industry sectors associated with potential investment opportunities as well as LTPC's portfolio.
- Drive the investment evaluation process by working closely with management team to understand a business, working with financial, legal, and tax advisors and consultants to develop due diligence plans and investment structures, reviewing due diligence reports, supervising the preparation of and preparing internal investment proposals and assisting with the deal closing process.
- Monitor portfolio assets on an ongoing basis, work with valuation agent on the valuation process and engage on internal and external investor reporting.
- Develop trusted relationships with portfolio company executives to help support value creation efforts.
- Maintain and continue to develop a network of relationships with bankers, advisors, industry sources, and other investment professionals for sourcing, due diligence, and value creations purposes.
- Be able and willing to develop relationships across BlackRock with a positive attitude towards cross functional collaboration and partnership.
- Coach and mentor junior members of the team.
- As required, represent LTPC to existing and prospect investors at meetings and conferences.
Experience & skills
- 8+ years of professional experience, ideally from a leading buyout firm.
- Successful track record as an investor coupled with excellent understanding of global private equity markets.
- Experience in sourcing, executing, and managing private investments.
- Strong leadership skills and hands-on attitude.
- Excellent analytical, project management, and organizational skills; ability to manage workload effectively and deliver quality work on schedule.
- Strong presentation skills as well as oral and written communications skills.
- Team-oriented. Enthusiasm and commitment to working in a friendly, entrepreneurial, team environment.
- Results driven with a high level of attention to detail.
- Willingness to travel to visit prospect companies, management teams and portfolio companies.
For New York City only: The salary range for this position is $237,500 - $300,000. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, and benefits including heath care, leave benefits, and retirement benefits. BlackRock operates a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy and your total compensation may vary based on role, location, and firm, department and individual performance.

Our hybrid work model
BlackRock's current hybrid work model is designed to enable in-person connections and collaboration that is core to our culture, while supporting increased flexibility for all employees. In line with local health guidance and regulations, employees are required to work at least 3 days in the office each week, with the flexibility to work from home up to 2 days a week. Some business groups may require more time in the office due to their roles and responsibilities.
