Loss Prevention Specialist - Cannabis Industry

JOB SUMMARY:

The Retail Security Specialist will oversee and manage all Third-Party security companies that support the retail dispensaries. In addition, this person will manage the day-to-day operations of loss prevention by developing and executing company programs and processes, analyzing financial and asset data, and building partnerships with store teams to mitigate internal and external theft and loss.

JOB DUTIES:

Core duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Manage all Third-Party security partners to ensure appropriate staffing, effective communication, and execution of contracted responsibilities at all retail dispensaries.
• Own the Security Contact List for all retail dispensaries, ensuring the call list is regularly updated and alarm codes are validated.
• Provide feedback and oversight to existing security partners and source new security proposals for emerging markets.
• Work with Director of Retail Operations on the creation and maintenance of security plans and evacuation for all existing and emerging markets.
• Develop and implement programs designed to protect company assets from loss due to internal/external theft and unsafe practices.
• Utilize all company performance reporting to identify risks and mitigate issues that reduce loss and maximize profitability; partner with stores to develop action plans to address/minimize both cash and inventory shortage.
• Partner with Retail Field Specialist, Director of Stores, Area Managers, and Dispensary Teams on the design and implementation of loss prevention policies that reduce shrinkage, protect company assets, promote team member safety, and enhance customer satisfaction.
• Support retail dispensaries stores during annual and/or semi-annual security inspections.
• Partner with Human Resources, Legal, and Retail Leadership to conduct investigations and operational assessments and create action plans that address identified areas of concern.
• Maintain accurate records and reports of all identified theft activity and related follow up; disseminate and communicate reporting as necessary.
• Ensure all Loss Prevention Audits are conducted consistently and objectively, with a focus on continuous improvement through partnership and training.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to travel 75% to all C3 Industries retail locations.
• Responsiveness for off-hour, on call incident management across all retail locations.
• Working knowledge of security equipment and systems
• Familiar with exception-based reporting systems

• Comprehensive knowledge of retail operations, merchandising, and sales.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, POS systems; experience with METRC.
• Proven ability to motivate and influence others through personal actions and examples.

• Demonstrate strong oral and written communication skills; ability to correspond in a professional, businesslike manner.
