LTL Logistics Manager
Job Description
As the LTL Logistics Manager, you will support the LTL Division at PLS while overseeing pricing responsibilities. You will develop and foster LTL carrier relations by implementing new client proposals and leading existing client engineering initiatives.
This position is based in Cranberry, PA and will be in the office Monday-Friday.
More on what you will do:
- Negotiate LTL-related pricing agreements and procurement activities.Â
- Maintain blanket and customer-specific pricing profiles.Â
- Prepare PLS field sales and customer deliverables such as: RFP responses, savings assessments, proposal documents, transportation service agreements, appendix A pricing exhibits, letters of authorization, and vendor letters.
- Create and run customer reports in Cognos and in TMS systems.Â
- Interact with PLS sales personnel, outside service providers, and internal IT and operational staff.Â
- Maintain PLS’s LTL proprietary Transportation Management System (TMS), including:
- Support TMS needs for all divisions of LTL product line - Agent, Field Sales, 3PL, Freight Solutions and GoShip.Â
- Create billable, actual, and benchmarking profiles in the TMS.
- Conduct data analysis, benchmarking, and modeling using the TMS.Â
- Set up accounts, products, locations, users, and reports in the TMS.

Own carrier performance and relations, including:Â
- Review carrier performance regularly.
- Prepare carrier bid documents and secure approval for distribution to carriers.
- Analyze carrier bid proposals to determine savings and margin potential.Â
- Serve as a liaison between AP and carrier as needed.
- Maintain Czar Lite and carrier-specific tariffs.Â
As the LTL Logistics Manager, you will be expected to have prior experience with:
- LTL carrier pricingÂ
- Transporation Management Systems
- Microsoft Suite products - strong Excel skills are a plusÂ
- General business skills – relationship building, negotiating, presenting, benchmarking, and effective communication
Exceptional candidates will have:
- 3+ years of experience in LTL carrier pricingÂ
- Bachelor’s degreeÂ
- Microsoft Access skillsÂ
