LTL Project Manager
Job Description
Position Summary:
The LTL Project Manager will own and execute the LTL Renewal Strategy by coordinating with various members of the service line and commercial teams to ensure customer contract pricing and related carrier pricing are negotiated on a timely basis. The process will require you to support different aspects of the business and have frequent interaction with different stakeholders. In this role, you will create and maintain relationships throughout C.H. Robinson while working closely with the Commercial, Operational, Service Line business and carriers to create a culture of executing to customer satisfaction. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The duties and responsibilities of this position consists of, but are not limited to, the following:
- Serve as the single point of contact and be accountable for all Renewal related activities & requests
- Manage the list of all contract customers and target annual renegotiation dates
- Work with the Corporate Capacity team to coordinate/model carrier cost changes in line with customer price changes
- Communicate project progress and facilitate project-related meetings to meet deliverables; Escalate quickly as necessary
- Lead LTL Procurement projects including reviewing and vetting documents, facilitating, participating in calls, capturing and communicating bid goals and requirements
- Track performance of commercial / service line ability to implement renewals on-time and at a profitable level
- Offer solutions for improving our tools and processes
- Working closely with commercial offices, LTL service line, carriers and deal desk
- Anticipates internal and external challenges
- Successfully transfer knowledge to other relevant internal teams as well as provide support as needed
- Leverage technical expertise and relationships to contribute to strategy and drive business results
- Support projects for Common Carrier segment within LTL Service Line
- Other duties or responsibilities as assigned according to the team
QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
- High School Diploma/GED
- Minimum 2 years of project management experience, with the proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Less Than Truckload (LTL)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite of programs
- Up to 10% travel (domestically)
Preferred:
- Bachelor's degree from accredited college or university
- Project Management Professional certification
- Effective and flexible communication skills: strong listener with strong facilitation skills and the ability to tell the story and connect to your audience
- Ability to organize, design, develop and deliver projects for internal and external audiences at all levels
- Ability to collaborate effectively with subject matter experts internally and externally at all levels
- Experience working and thriving in a continuous improvement environment
- Experience and comfort in dealing with ambiguity and able to deliver with minimal oversight
- Experience working directly with customers
- Strong prioritization and time management skills
- Experience with lean processes and tools
