The primary function of the M&A Strategy and Business Development Manager is to support mergers and acquisitions and corporate planning process to build Lincoln Electric's future portfolio. This position will manage, support, and assist with the due diligence process, valuation analysis of projects, corporate strategy and corporate planning. It will lead various workstreams of M&A transactions from beginning to end. The role will proactively source deals that support and optimize Lincoln Electric's strategy. This position will report to Senior Vice President of Strategy & Business Development and work closely with members of the executive team.
JOB DESCRIPTION (DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES)
- Support the development and execution of the Company's acquisition strategy and overall strategic plan.
- Identify potential strategic targets, analyze, evaluate and value those potential targets, working with the acquiring business unit to identify and quantify synergies.
- Lead the financial due diligence process
- Assist the legal group in development of the Purchase Agreement
- Coordinate the development of post-acquisition integration plans
- Track post-closing results vs. the plan
- Support the company's strategic planning process including: analyzing market trends and key competitors, modeling the impact of key initiatives on the Company's financial performance, tracking progress vs. key strategic metrics and milestones, and participating in strategic business reviews.
- Domestic and international travel required as needed
- Assumes additional responsibilities as needed or directed in support of the Company's 2025 Strategy.
BASIC REQUIREMENTS
- A Bachelor's degree in business, finance, accounting, engineering or other technical field
- Master degree is preferred
- 5+ years of commercial or financial experience in similar role or private equity/investment banking experience in manufacturing
- Experience performing due diligence, negotiation, and execution activities
- Excellent presentation skills as well as overall strong oral and written communication skills
- Proven strategic thinking and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail
- Strong financial skills (Valuation methods, ability to read & model businesses cases)
- Experience leading projects across multiple corporate functions
- Strong project management skills and experience leading cross-functional team
