We're looking for a Principal Machine Learning Engineer, Spotlight to join Snap Inc!
What you'll do:

• Build and optimize world-class AI/ML-based products and systems to provide the best content experience for Snapchatters and our community
• Drive the team's strategy and goal setting related to project impact, AI system design, and ML excellence
• Collaborate with leadership to up-level the ML tech stack and improve the performance of the organization

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Vast experience designing, training and optimizing neural networks for LLM / Sequence models for NLP tasks or large transformers / advanced models for Recommendation Systems
• In-depth understanding of common Machine Learning and Deep Learning algorithms
• Effectiveness at leading and executing large, complex technical initiatives

Minimum Qualifications:

• Masters or PhD in Computer Science (Machine Learning, NLP, Deep Learning), Applied Mathematics or a related field; or equivalent industry experience
• 10+ years of industry experience with large-scale customer-facing AI products
• Experience with deep learning framework such as TensorFlow and PyTorch
• Research Experience in NLP / LLM or Applied ML experience in Search or recommendation systems (Ranking / Retrieval), machine learning infrastructure and distributed systems

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience contributing to AI publications
• Previous experience partnering with cross-functional executives and management across a globally distributed organization and exercising sound judgment
• Track record of delivery in rapidly changing, highly collaborative, multi-site, multi-stakeholder environments
• Deep knowledge of and experience working with a diverse group of engineers
• Someone who loves to learn, and is passionate about developing top engineering talent and leaders

Compensation
In the United States, work locations are assigned a pay zone which determines the salary range for the position. The successful candidate's starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. These pay zones may be modified in the future.

• Zone A (CA, WA, NYC) : The base salary range for this position is $265,000 - 385,000 annually
• Zone B : The base salary range for this position is $252,000 - 366,000 annually
• Zone C : The base salary range for this position is $225,000 - $327,000 annually
• This position is eligible for equity in the form of RSUs
