Ardent is seeking a Machine Learning Engineer to join our team.  

The position is primarily remote, with occasional travel to the Virginia office. Travel is estimated to be no more than 5% of the time.

Position Description:

Ardent is seeking a Machine Learning Engineer will work in our TRI Labs Technology Research and Innovation Lab focusing on technology-related infrastructure, software engineering, research, and innovation using machine learning and artificial intelligence. The engineer will contribute to the development and deployment of machine learning models. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in machine learning algorithms, data analysis, and software development.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Develop machine learning models and algorithms to address business challenges and enhance product functionality.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including data scientists, software engineers, and product managers to design and implement machine learning solutions.
  • Conduct exploratory data analysis, feature engineering, and model evaluation to extract insights and optimize model performance.
  • Implement scalable and efficient machine learning pipelines for processing large volumes of data.
  • Stay updated on the latest developments and trends in machine learning and contribute to the continuous improvement of our machine learning infrastructure.
  • Communicate technical concepts and findings to non-technical stakeholders and contribute to technical documentation.

Requirements: 

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in machine learning engineering or a related role.
  • Experience with machine learning frameworks and libraries such as TensorFlow, Jupyter Notebook, PyTorch, scikit-learn, or Keras.
  • Strong understanding of machine learning algorithms and techniques, including supervised and unsupervised learning, deep learning, and reinforcement learning.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, .NET, or Scala.
  • Solid knowledge of data processing tools and techniques, and other big data technologies.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or in a team environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams. 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with cloud computing platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
  • Knowledge of software engineering best practices, including version control, continuous integration, and deployment.
  • Experience with distributed computing and parallel processing frameworks.
  • Familiarity with natural language processing (NLP), computer vision, or other specialized areas of machine learning.
  • Contributions to open-source projects or participation in machine learning communities.
