Machine Learning Engineer

Overview:

Tower Research Ventures (TRV) is the venture arm of Tower Research Capital. TRV is hiring a Machine Learning Engineer to help scale TRV’s incubation effort. The role will support TRV incubations and TRV portfolio companies with any and all engineering needs required to succeed. 

This role will require you to act as a ‘zero to one’ engineer on a wide variety of startups. When TRV decides to start a company you will scope the technical feasibility of the project, and be responsible for building an MVP until we hire a dedicated team for the company. You will drive the recruiting and interview process for hiring this dedicated team and handle the offloading of your code. Once we have sufficient resources dedicated to the company, you will begin the process again on a new company, continue working on the previous one, or do project based work for our portfolio companies until we have a new incubation.  

You also may be asked to help TRV evaluate startups, source companies, and write blog content. This is a plus but not a requirement. 

Responsibilities:

• Developing data pipelines for collecting, processing, and analyzing diverse datasets.
• Designing and implementing deep learning architectures for large volumes of data.
• Conducting experiments and tests to evaluate model performance.
• Contributing to optimizing and fine-tuning existing machine learning models.
• Building pipelines for monitoring, managing and constantly improving production ML/DL models.

Qualifications:

• A bachelor’s, master's, or PhD (complete) degree or equivalent from a top university, with 6-10 years of experience.
• Prior experience with training, building, and deploying large scale deep learning models.
• Prior experience designing and implementing sequence and time series models.
• Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines and MLOps for automating model deployments.
• Skilled in using Linux, SQL, Git, and BASH scripting.
• Strong knowledge of Python (Pytorch/Tensorflow).

Anticipated annual base salary range $175,000 - $250,000, plus eligible for discretionary bonus
