Machine Learning Internship (Paid)
Job Description
This is a paid, full time position, approximately 40 hours per week. Approximately 10 weeks starting from June 5th to August 11th although end date is flexible to extend through August.
The positions are remote and require a U.S. East Coast location.
Essential Functions and Job Responsibilities:
Precise is looking for highly motivated graduate students to join our team for Machine Learning Internships. This is a unique opportunity to learn about and contribute to a rapidly growing company as we enhance our existing capabilities while focusing on continued expansion. Last summer, our interns focused on some very innovative projects in artificial intelligence, machine learning, cloud, and blockchain. We have won 3 prestigious innovation awards, applied for two provisional patents, and presented the work at a Google conference. Our interns gave rave reviews about their hands-on learning experience and our company culture. Our project(s) this summer will offer opportunities to learn or develop your Machine Learning Development skills.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with data scientist/data analyst, software developers, and test engineers on the team to produce high quality software that delivers business value and follows established design patterns and processes
- Research and develop classification, regression, and learning models for data analysis and data discovery
- Develop features encompassing the front-end and back-end of machine learning-powered applications
- Keep up to date with the latest technology trends, communicating results and ideas to key decision makers
- Actively engage in process improvement initiatives
- Enrich, analyze, and visualize complex machine data using different types of algorithms such as predictive modeling and machine learning
Minimum Requirements:
- Applicants must be currently enrolled and pursuing a Masters’ or PhD degree program in Computer Science, Engineering Design, Mechanical Engineering or Applied Statistics at an accredited school, and have completed 30 semester hours prior to the start of the internship
- Experienced in programming languages such as Python 3 (Flask, WSGI), Javascript/Typescript (React)
- Practical experience in developing scripts for tools automation
- Experience with developing and/or implementing computational methods and algorithms
- Experienced in Object Oriented application and component/library design
- Experienced in BigTable, BigQuery, MongoDB and relational databases
- Experience with Linux environment and shell scripting
- Excellent oral, written, interpersonal communication skills
- Embrace working collaboratively in a team environment, including giving and taking constructive code review feedback
Preferred Requirements:
- Experienced in at least one Deep Learning framework, TensorFlow preferred
- Familiar with version control system such as Git
- Experience with Cloud Platform (AWS, Azure, GCP) is preferred
- Scalable Deployments and Containerization, Docker, and Kubernetes
- Prior experience in Computer Vision or Natural Language Processing is preferred
- Knowledge of Machine Learning and Deep Learning algorithms (VGG, AlexNet, etc.)
- Experience with Redux, CSS, and UI/UX Design Patterns
Pay Range: $23-$30 per hr based on experience
Candidates who wish to be considered for full-time opportunities at the end of the internship (should they exist) must qualify for a Public Trust background investigation, which has a U.S. residency requirement of the past three (3) of the past five (5) consecutive years.
