At DS Smith Fordham we are looking to hire several Operatives to work in the Conversion department and assist with the day-to-day running of our machines.

About the role 

As a valued team member you will be asked to play a vital role in supporting the Operator in the setting and running of the machines. You will assist in achieving quality standards on all work produced and delighting our customers by producing high quality product, in a timely manner. We work together to ensure that our work is technically correct and the right process has been followed to achieve customer requirements.

Health & Safety is our number one priority and as such an important part of the role will be to work in line with all current policies and procedures to keep yourself and your colleagues safe.

You will report directly to the Shift Team Leader however will work closely with the Operators on various machines to receive the training you need to become a successful Assistant Operator.

About you  

Minimum requirements: 

• Work in line with DS Smith standards at all times including but not limited to Health & Safety and Quality

• Able to communicate and work well within a team

• Able to understand and achieve objectives

• Document good ways of working and work to these as standard

Preferred requirements:

• Able to work on your own initiatives

• Some experience of manufacturing and shift work
