Machine Operator I

MAJOR AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:
o Uses computerized manufacturing technologies or related systems to meet production and customer requirements.
o Performs set-up duties on fabrication equipment and the safety devices in accordance with production documentation.
o Positions production materials and tooling and maintains accurate dimensions according to print specifications.
o Operates and adjusts various equipment, including controllers, and edits programs according to production documentation.
o Meets established performance standards to ensure production schedules are met.
o Stays in sync with all applicable safety procedures and reports unsafe conditions or potential safety hazards to team leader or appropriate resource.
o Ensures that products and systems meet Hoffman quality standards.
o Inspects work to ensure accurate dimensional requirements are met per prints.
o Performs specified preventative maintenance procedures and assists Maintenance and outside sources with trouble-shooting systems.
o Takes action and notifies appropriate resource when problems arise concerning equipment, operations, materials, etc.
o Participates actively as a team member through continuous improvement activities to meet customer needs.
o Maintains a clean, safe and organized work area.
- May be required to perform additional duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
o Knowledge of all operations of the assigned production process required
o Knowledge of safety policies and procedures, and ability to promote compliance with them.
o Skill in analytical thinking and problem solving
o Skill in communicating effectively through oral and written communications
o Ability to read and understand blueprints.
o Fork truck licensed or ability to obtain one.
o Ability to lift up to 50 lbs with assistance., slide and shake heavy gauges of material.
o Ability to read and use measuring equipment (i.e., tape measure, caliper)Β
o Ability to identify and support continuous improvement efforts with the Production Supervisor.
o Ability to sustain and drive lean manufacturing and 5S activities
o Ability to maintain a clean and organized work area to facilitate manufacturing functions.
o Ability to adapt to constantly evolving business circumstance
