In the United States, Hino Motors Manufacturing U.S.A. currently has employees in 4 states including Michigan, Arkansas, West Virginia and California. The Corporate Office resides in Novi, Michigan. Hino assembles medium-duty trucks at its Mineral Wells, West Virginia plant. Its manufacturing facilities in Marion, Arkansas produces axles, knuckles and suspension components for Toyota's Tacoma, Tundra and Sequoia. Hino's Parts Distribution Center in Mira Loma, California supplies Latin American and Caribbean distributors with genuine Hino service parts.

We are currently seeking a Machining Engineer for HMM located in Marion, AR reporting directly to Engineering Manager. This individual will be responsible for developing and implementing process improvements for CNC machining operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Continuous improvement of equipment, tooling and gauging
  • Sequencing of operations
  • Human factors - ergonomic consideration
  • Efficient material flow
  • Supporting improvements ensuring high-yield and productivity
  • Analyzing production results and data for root cause analysis
  • Providing technical direction to and oversight of external vendor sources and internal maintenance and operations teams, to solve urgent and complex problems by identifying and evaluating alternatives and solutions
  • Select techniques to solve problems and make sound process and programming recommendations to support machining production and assess results to meet the established design standard and meet customer specifications.
  • Review and act on machining non-conformances and customer complaints
  • Own investigation, troubleshooting, and improvement of machining equipment impact on safety, quality, and cost of producing custom designs through machining processes.

Requirements:

  • Technical knowledge and ability in process engineering disciplines
  • Critical thinking and an analytical mindset
  • Demonstrate excellent level of analytical ability, communication and interpersonal skills required to build relationships with team members and customers to solve problems and resolve issues
  • Demonstrated knowledge of statistical methods as applied to process control
  • Demonstrated knowledge of quality systems and gauging methods
  • Demonstrated knowledge of PFMEAs and control plans
  • Experience with AutoCAD and part and tooling prints
  • Ability to work flexible hours, at times overtime, off-shift support, as well as on-call support
  • Position may require sitting for prolonged periods of time, moving equipment up to 25 pounds.
  • Experience with component machining processes including:
    • CNC machining centers and programming
    • Precision grinding processes
    • In-line gauging processes
    • Precision cutting tools and required set-ups
  • Knowledge of Tooling:
    • Speeds, Feeds and Depth of Cut
    • Continuous improvement in Cost, Productivity and Quality
  • Understanding of Gauging:
    • Gauge Design
    • CMM Systems
    • Calibration
    • Sampling Plans

Experience:

  • 0 - 3 years machining experience. Automotive experience highly desirable.
  • Strong background in Mitsubishi PLC for troubleshooting and creating new logic steps.
Education:

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
