Summary

This position is located at US Mint,Manufacturing Directorate - Philadelphia - Die Manufacturing Division. As a MACHINIST (DIE MANUFACTURER), you will be manufacturing, repairing, and rebuilding parts, products, and items of equipment from raw stock of different metals, alloys, and other materials using a variety of machine tools with minimal supervision.

  • Shift Work: This facility operates on a 24 hour per day, three-shift basis. Assignment to a specific shift cannot be guaranteed. The successful applicant must be able to work all shifts on a rotational basis.
  • May be required to wear safety clothing and/or equipment required by the position. This may include safety shoes, hard hats, hearing protection, gloves, masks, etc.
  • Pass a pre-employment physical examination.

The position handles up to 50 pounds unassisted and heavier items with the assistance of material handling devices and other workers. Work is performed on a hard surface with constant standing and walking and occasional sitting, kneeling, crouching, and stooping.

Qualifications

You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.

The experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service.

You must meet the screen-out element Ability To Do The Work Of The Position Without More Than Normal Supervision, normally addressed at the beginning of the online questions. In addition, you must also obtain an average score of two (2) for the following elements for this position as addressed through the online question in order to be considered minimally qualified.
