Machinist (Manual)

Skills: - Set up and operate a variety of machine tools to produce precision parts and instruments - Interpret blueprints, sketches, and engineering specifications to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished workpieces - Operate lathes, milling machines, grinders, and other machining equipment - Select appropriate tooling and fixtures for each job - Ability to interpret drawings and apply standard operating procedures to accurately and efficiently machine parts of all materials - Must own tools of the trade, to include caliper (vernier) - Must understand uses and limitations of various materials - Must have high attention to detail and quality control - Understand the correct set-ups of tools to extend tool life and prevent damage to equipment - Ability to take raw materials and produce finished products for jobs - Ability to work as a team member in a professional environment - Must be punctual and reliable - Willingness to learn and to teach skills of the trade Note: This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive.
