UC Health is hiring a full-time Magnet Program Manager for West Chester Hospital.
The Magnet® Program Manager maintains responsibility for leading, directing, coordinating, and facilitating the activities and initiatives associated with non-clinical aspects of nursing professional practice, which includes attaining and maintaining ANCC Magnet® Designation status.
The Magnet® Program Manager is responsible for supporting the integration of the Professional Practice Model into the Care Delivery System for all clinical areas across the system and serves as a culture and change strategist to advance the practice of professional nursing and achievement of the organization's Key Performance Indicators.
The program manager elevates the practice of nursing through facilitation and involvement within the following: Clinical advancement program, shared decision-making, peer review, preceptor and mentor development, and professional, recruitment and retention strategies. As the organization's site and survey coordinator for nursing satisfaction and nursing-sensitive quality indicators, this role collaborates with the Chief Nursing Officer and quality analytics teams in the collection, analysis, and dissemination of nurse-sensitive indicator data.

Responsibilities
- Promotes and supports the clinical inquiry processes of evidence-based practice, performance improvement, and research throughout the organization.

- Supports UCH Vision by participating in the development, implementation, and tracking of the annual Nursing Strategic Plan.
- Maintains open lines of communication with nursing staff, nursing leadership, organizational leadership, and system leadership regarding nursing professional practice.
- Develops, implements, and evaluates staff and interdisciplinary education related to the Magnet® model, and nursing professional practice.
- Educates nurses and staff on the Magnet® process.
- Serves as administrative liaison for organizational Clinical Ladder program.
- Integrate the Professional Practice Model into nursing professional practice.
- Participates in evaluation of nursing quality data and application of evidence-based practices to improve nursing practice, patient outcomes, and patient experience data.
- Provides outcome data to support the evaluation of educational programs.
- Facilitates the application of the Magnet® standards to the work environment and clinical practice through collaboration with facility clinical nursing leadership.
- Promotes professional growth of nurses by mentoring to achieve specialty certification, advanced degrees, and submit evidence-based abstracts.
- Serves as liaison with the Magnet® Program Office on all Magnet® communication.
- Recommends and ensures organizational initiatives and professional nursing concepts, including Magnet® standards, are integrated into orientation, shared governance, peer review, clinical advancement, Nurse Residency, preceptor and mentor, and other nursing programs.
- Serves as site leader for RN Survey, collaborating with Chief Nursing Officer and Nursing Leadership in the administration, analysis, evaluation, and dissemination of results.
- Collaborate with NDNQI system owners and stakeholders to optimize the benchmarking of data for Magnet®-related nurse-sensitive quality indicators.
- Promotes and supports Performance Evaluations, particularly Peer Evaluations.
- Lead, encourage, and support the Magnet® Champion group.
- Serves as the liaison between the organization and the ANCC Magnet®, Pathways to Excellence, or other nursing Program Office.
- Coordinates the organization's Magnet® processes as the onsite expert and resource for the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) Magnet Program® and other nursing designations (Pathways to Excellence, Beacon, Lantern etc.).
- Coordinates the assessment of Magnet® or other nursing recognition program gap analysis and proposes action plans for identified gaps.
- Develops strategies to implement the Chief Nurse's vision and plans for attaining or retaining Magnet® or other recognition.
- Coordinates the gathering of evidence for the Magnet® document.
- Coordinates the writing and submission of the Magnet® document.
- Collect, maintain, interpret, and disseminate data related to Magnet® Program document submission:
- RN Survey
- Nursing Degrees
- Professional Nursing Certification
- Nurse-Sensitive Quality/Safety Indicators (NDNQI)
- Patient Experience Metrics (Press Ganey)
- Create and submit required Magnet® Program Reports:
- Interim Report
- DDCT
- Application
- Directs the Magnet® site visit in collaboration with the Chief Nurse and Shared Governance Council structure.
- Organizes and facilitates the Magnet® Site Visit process.
- Assesses readiness, develops resources, serves as liaison with the Magnet® Program Office and Appraisers, and implements post-site visit recommendations.
- Collaborates with the Marketing Department to develop and sustain Magnet® requirements.
- Serves as overall project manager for initiatives that address improvements in the Magnet® Process.
- Promotes and supports nursing staff and leadership in continuous improvement initiatives, using UCH PI Way when appropriate.
- Acts as consultant and/or mentor to nursing and organizational department leaders and staff in relation to initiatives affecting nursing professional practice.
- Advocates for and collaborates with system leaders to promote and develop nursing research opportunities.
- Promotes the integration of evidence-based practice and the advancement of nursing research within the organization.
- Serves as Site IRB Consultant.

Qualifications
Education and Certification:
- Bachelor of Science Nursing (required)
- Master of Science, Nursing, or related healthcare field (required)
- Post-graduate or DNP (preferred)
- Current RN License in Ohio or in home state covered by Compact State RN licensing
- Professional Nursing Certification in Nursing Leadership or Professional Development (preferred)
Experience:
- 5 years of related experience including 2 years in a leadership role (formal/informal) with a significant impact on nursing outcomes (required)
Required Skills and Knowledge:
- Previous experience and knowledge with the Magnet® Program Magnet or Pathways to Excellence recognition programs (required )
- Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 applications and Adobe Acrobat Pro
- Proficient in project management using UCH PI Way
- Positive demeanor and problem-solving
