Mainframe Specialist

Your Role and Responsibilities

• Early check creation of incidents (for AMS) for aborted jobs and observance of the exception list clarification of errors that were caused by AV
• Error explanation for canceled jobs (analysis + forwarding SM to AMS)
• Tracking of aborted batch and BMP runs including if necessary correction runs and data provision
• Adaptation of the test JCLs through the deployment tool ‘tso batch’ through all stages up to production
• Quality check of the procedures control cards considering the specifications from development
• OPC / TWS control temporary adjustments in the daily plan permanent adjustments in the long-term plan (with the help of batch monitoring or scheduling service) Commissioned by DEV or AMS.
• Creation (in cooperation with DEV) of applications for production and if necessary consolidation
• Annually setting the dates for the OPC periods
• Identification of optimization potential; automation of standard processes
• Maintenance of the automated processes and tools developed on behalf of the customer

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

• Experience writing and maintaining JCL version V2R2/V2R3
• Experience in Controlling Job and Step Processing Running and Debugging JCL
• Experience with IBM DB2 Administration Tools
• Experience utilizing various IBM z/OS mainframe utilities
• Experience with IBM mainframe disaster recovery planning and implementation
• Experience administering and providing technical support for IBM z/OS V2R2/V2R3 or above
• Mainframe systems support using REXX JCL TSO ISPF
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar position
• Ability to interpret/analyze code and application logs to troubleshoot errors
• Problem solver customer oriented
• Ability to analyze synthesize and make decisions under the SLA
• Strong time management skills that enable on-time project delivery
• Advanced English
