About the Role

Spiegelworld is looking for a charismatic Maître D to join the team at our newest venture, Diner Ross, at the LINQ in Las Vegas. The Maître D (Super Host) will lead Diner Ross with the strongest focus on hospitality and service in a manner that sets our establishment out from the rest in an elevated dining experience. The Maître D is also a creative leader of the Host team who leverages creativity and is passionate about delivering an unforgettable dining experience. This position reports to the General Manager of Diner Ross.

Primary Job Duties

  • First point of contact for guests entering the restaurant and ensure all guests feel welcomed, and assist hosts in showing them to their seats.
  • Lead, train, hire, coach and develop the host team, leading by example and ensuring all service standards are met.
  • Oversee the dining room floorplans/seating chart and service staff rotation as well as ensuring all VIP guests receive service from the most seasoned servers, and are sat at the most sought-after tables.
  • Ensure the flow of service and pace, for example, if a table lingers too long, it is the Maître D's job to tactfully offer those guests a drink at the bar.
  • Responsible for hosting pre-shift briefings with the host team, and familiarizing the host team with VIP faces and seating preferences.
  • Manages VIP profiles in restaurant reservations systems such as Sevenrooms & OpenTable.
  • Liaise between guests, hosts, GM, AGM, Bar Manager & Executive Chef including notifying the service and culinary team of any special allergies, or celebrations.
  • Personally escort all VIP's to their tables.
  • Ensures all arriving and departing guests receive a warm "Spiegelly" welcome as well as acknowledgement upon exit to thank them for coming in and inviting them to return soon.
  • Promotes cooperative effort, a team spirit, and good morale among employees.
  • Prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Actively engage in our antiracist commitment and internal practices by participating in offered learnings, engaging in conversations around Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Accessibility, and helping us maintain a safe and welcoming workspace.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

What You Bring

  • Minimum 2 years of Food & Beverage experience, preferably fine dining in a supervisory, management, or lead role.
  • Previous experience with reservation systems such as OpenTable or/and SevenRooms preferred.
  • Organized, works well under pressure, Charismatic personality, personably, out-spoken, humor.
  • Adaptive organizational skills and the ability to change plans to meet new circumstances.
  • A true passion for hosting - helping to create an environment where people not only have fun but feel relaxed, welcome, and connected.
  • A genuine nature and able to comfortably engage in natural dialogue with guests and diffuse difficult situations.
  • Integrity and the ability to make decisions on your feet.
  • The ability to speak clearly and articulately while providing information and answering questions from guests, while focusing on etiquette and conveying a sense of calm.
  • Willingness to work late in the evening and on weekends.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must have valid work authorization for the US.
  • At least 21 years of age.
