Position at DX1 Platform

DX1, a division of Dominion Enterprises, is hiring a Major Units Data Specialist to work with our Power Sports Vehicle Data Entry Department on managing, proofing, and prioritizing primarily Powersports data that supports the suite of DX1 products. DX1 provides data and marketing solutions for powersports dealers with a complete dealership management platform, designed to improve dealership efficiencies across all departments by combining marketing and operational functions needed to run a dealership.

This is not a typical data entry team or position. Do you enjoy researching and analyzing information across a variety of websites and documents? Are you comfortable manipulating diverse types of data including spreadsheets, text documents, images, and PDFs? When reading, can you readily detect formatting, spelling, grammar, and punctuation errors? Do you have a mechanical aptitude? The Role of Major Unit Data Specialist

  • Assists in the review and preparation of source data by compiling, sorting, comparing and reformatting large data files as necessary; resolving discrepancies by using standard procedures or returning incomplete documents to the Data Manager for resolution; communicates entry priorities for the data team
  • Verifies major unit model data entered such as model specifications, features, product codes, images, and pricing by comparing data from both OEM websites and other data resource information to ensure it is correct and complete
  • Return tasks to team members as necessary with detailed notes for required corrections
  • Enter and/or make updates to models by correcting, deleting, or reentering data as necessary
  • Comparing data across OEM websites and various documents to ensure it is accurate and complete
  • Conducts a weekly review of outstanding tasks and alerts team members as necessary.
  • Reviews industry news articles to identify model releases and information pertinent to the functionality of the department and team.
  • Informs team members regarding recent technology and determines where and how it is displayed within the system.
  • Review and manipulate large spreadsheets; various Excel formats, .txt, .dat, .xml, etc.
  • Able to prioritize tasks based on requests, industry needs and time available
  • Maintains and updates a list of additional attributes to be added for models across all industries as technology changes
  • Regularly review vendor qualifications
  • Set up new vendors within the system as necessary
  • Contact vendors as necessary to obtain information such as price files and model data
  • Submit PBIs and Bugs to Product Management Team for evaluation and scheduling of development time
  • Write and maintain SOP documents for the department
  • Maintains customer confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential
  • Self-starter, proactive, creative, detail oriented
  • Work occasional overtime and/or flexible hours due to special projects
  • Some domestic and limited international travel is required
  • Keep manager or supervisor informed of any departmental issues or perceived problems
  • Contribute ideas on improving efficiency while maintaining work quality
  • Reports to Data Manager

The Successful Major Unit Data Specialist Will Have

  • Excellent attention to detail including proofreading skills
  • Strong oral and written communication
  • Respond to questions and resolve issues received from various teams and managers
  • Solid computer skills with the ability to quickly learn new applications and resolve routine technical issues
  • Strong organizational skills including follow-up
  • Ability to quickly adjust to programming changes and to envision a broad range view of completed work
  • Good decision making and problem-solving skills; able to work independently
  • Demonstrate a positive, professional attitude and work cooperatively within the team environment
  • Ability to multi-task, work well under pressure and meet deadlines as needed; some overtime may be required
  • Graphics experience a plus
  • Power sports experience or power sports enthusiast a plus

Additional Requirements

  • 3 or more years of customer service, data entry, administrative or similar experience
  • Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions and procedures
  • Excellent writing and proofreading skills including formatting, spelling, grammar, and punctuation
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite and Google Sheets
  • Any database experience a plus
