POSITION OVERVIEW:

The company is seeking a candidate who is highly driven with a strong desire to support and in some cases own financial policies, procedures, controls, and the reporting systems of the company. This position will report to the Financial Controller and will manage the monthly closing in a timely manner while maintaining a high level of communication with other executives and operational managers.

This position is involved in various aspects of Management Reporting Accounting, including analysis and budgeting/forecasting of the Corporate balance sheet and cash flow, debt & lease accounting analysis, posting of month end closing journal entries, performance of internal controls, monthly payroll and various ad hoc projects & analysis. This position analyzes and maintains certain general ledger account activities, as well as produces reports and disclosure data required for all operations.

ESSENTIAL JOB SKILLS/DUTIES:

  • Prepare monthly accounting entries using quickbooks system reports and other financial information

    • Supporting Monthly review of the financial statements for operating units;
    • Supporting and leading Financial analysis;
    • Support and preparation of Actual vs. Forecast review of management reports;
    • Support and preparation of Actual vs. Forecast review of different company segments reports;

  • Supporting and where necessary leading preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP which include explanations for key variances vs. budget and prior year across the P&L, Balance Sheet, Cashflow & KPIs.
  • Ensure supplier invoices are properly coded with general ledger codes, supplier files are properly maintained in software (including W9 files) and suppliers are paid in a timely manner.
  • Process the monthly close of all modules in the operations/accounting software. Prepare account reconciliations & analyses of all general ledger accounts to ensure accurate and appropriate recording of cash, AR and AP daily transactions. Prepare journal entries necessary for closing the GL on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
  • Support weekly and monthly payroll needs ensuring compliance and accuracy (Paychex)
  • Supporting the monitoring and review of the posting of all incoming and outgoing cash transactions in the bank account on a daily basis. Oversee daily balancing of bank reconciliation in the accounting system.
  • Preparation of Corporate journal entries for accruals, various corporate cost allocations (as needed), Inter-co transactions (as needed), etc.
  • Assist with leading the Month End Close Process
  • Analyze financial activities impacting the Corporate Balance Sheet & Cash Flow to ensure accuracy and completeness
  • Coordinate and prepare budget/ interim forecasts for the Corporate Balance Sheet and Cash Flow
  • Completion of monthly/quarterly reports and analysis to external reporting and internal/external auditors and respond regarding periodic information requests.
  • Assist with guidance related to the companies Fixed Asset Process
  • Review contracts to ensure invoices are billed in accordance with contractual terms
  • Capable of multi-tasking, prioritizing, and working independently

Qualifications:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Required Education and Experience

  • Preferably Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance and ideally 3 years minimum of experience in either similar role, senior management accountant or senior accountant position

Preferred Licenses/Certifications

  • Actively pursuing CPA license
