The opportunity

The management accountant is responsible for providing financial insights and analysis to assist management in decision-making, planning, and controlling business operations. The Management Accountant will play a key role in aligning financial planning with strategic goals, with a focus on internal processes, efficiency, and long-term financial sustainability.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain financial models for budgeting, forecasting, and long-term planning.
• Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts, working closely with various departments to ensure accurate submissions.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual management reports, including variance analysis, profit and loss statements, and balance sheets.
• Provide actionable insights to senior management on financial performance, highlighting trends and potential risks.
• Analyze costs related to operations, production, and other projects to identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Conduct product or service costing and profitability analysis to inform decision-making.
• Analyze deviations between actual results and budgets/forecasts, providing explanations and recommendations for corrective actions.
• Track and report on relevant KPIs to monitor business performance and identify areas for improvement.
• Ensure internal financial controls are adhered to and recommend improvements where necessary.
• Streamline financial processes to improve efficiency and accuracy in financial reporting.
• Provide financial advice and insights to assist with business strategy and operations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to evaluate new projects, investments, or business ventures from a financial perspective.
• Perform ad hoc financial analysis and reporting as required by management for special projects or strategic initiatives.

Skills & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
• Professional qualifications (CIMA, ACCA, CPA) preferred.
• 3-5 years of experience in management accounting, financial planning & analysis (FP&A), or a similar role.
• Strong knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting processes.
• Proficiency in financial management software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar ERP systems).
• Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, financial modeling).
• Familiarity with accounting principles and practices (IFRS/GAAP).
