This position is located within the Patient Administration Department of the Captain James A Lovell Federal Health Care Center in North Chicago IL. The position serves as a coordinator, advisor, analyst, and planner for the delivery of health care services within Medical Service.

Qualifications

To qualify for this position, you must meet one of the following criteria:

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:
One (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-9) in Federal Service that has equipped you with the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the duties of a Management Analyst, GS-11. Specialized experience includes includes utilizing database management systems and software to control the organization, storage, retrieval, security, and integrity of data; designing specialized queries to sort and filter data according to user needs; extracting data; and educating appropriate staff member on using the databases.
Evaluating and making recommendations on operating programs. NOTE: Your experience must be fully documented in your resume and must include job title, duties, month and year start/end dates AND hours worked per week.

EDUCATION SUBSTITUTION: A Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree OR three full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree that is related to this position OR LL.M., if related. NOTE: Your education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of this position. One year of full-time graduate education is considered to be the number of credit hours that the school attended has determined to represent one year of full-time study; if that number cannot be obtained from the transcript, 18 semester hours will be considered as one full academic year of graduate study. A copy of your transcript is required at the time of application.

COMBINATION: An equivalent combination of specialized experience and graduate education as described above may be used to fully meet the requirements of this position. IMPORTANT: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. All experience listed on your resume must include the month and year start/end dates. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Physical Requirements: The work is primarily sedentary. There is some walking and carrying of light items. Work is performed in an office setting.

Receiving Service Credit for Earning Annual (Vacation) Leave: Federal Employees earn annual leave at a rate (4, 6 or 8 hours per pay period) which is based on the number of years they have served as a Federal employee. Selected applicants may qualify for credit toward annual leave accrual, based on prior work experience or military service experience. This credited service can be used in determining the rate at which they earn annual leave. Such credit must be requested and approved prior to the appointment date and is not guaranteed.
