Summary
This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Science and Technology Reinvention Laboratory (STRL) Mission Support Positions to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.
About the Position: Serve as Research Support Operations Officer responsible for organizational procedures for managing operational support requirements for field research activities in support of the U.S. Army Research Institute's research mission.

- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
- Temporary duty (TDY) business travel to worldwide locations is required less than 25% of the time.
- Position may or may not proceed to the GS-13 equivalent performance level depending on organization performance needs and actual job requirements. Salary control points may be implemented.
Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Coordinating and assembling composite Soldier support/requirement plans for data collection activities; 2) developing tasking/requirement documents for each requested or projected supporting command; 3) coordinating the execution of Soldier support requirements tasked to military commands; 4) and managing operational requirements/functions (e.g., Operational Security officer, technical publication release/clearance review, employee training/orientation programs, alternate billing official). This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (DE-02/GS-11).
Education
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
