Management and Program Assistant (Office Automation)

Federal experience is not required. The experience may have been gained in the public sector, private sector or Volunteer Service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-timework is considered on a prorated basis. You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement:

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE GS-5: You must have at least one year (12 months) of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-4 level in the Federal Service. Specialized experience is experience that is in or related to this position and provided you with the competencies required to perform successfully the duties of this position. Examples of qualifying experience may have been gained by performing clerical work in support of management and/or program analysis functions including performing quality review of documents; resolving procedural problems according to established procedures; and utilizing a personal computer and a variety of software applications to prepare correspondence, reports and other substantive material

OR

EDUCATION: You may substitute education for specialized experience as follows: a bachelor's degree or four (4) years of education above high school in any field of study from an accredited college or university.

COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: You may qualify by a combination of experience and education. Options for qualifying based on a combination will be identified in the online questions.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE GS-6:You must have at least one year (12 months) of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-5 level in the Federal Service. Specialized experience is experience that is in or related to this position and provided you with the competencies to perform successfully the duties of this position. Examples of qualifying experience may have been gained by performing clerical and technical work in support of management and/or program analysis functions which may have included identifying potential and actual problems and/or probable causes; researching specific issues; gathering pertinent statistics or information; monitoring, reviewing, or evaluating operations and interrelationships with other functions in regard to workflow, work redundancy, or systemic problems; revising procedures, controls, etc; and preparing memoranda, preliminary reports, and charts showing recommendations or findings.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE GS-7:You must have at least one year (12 months) of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-6 level in the Federal Service. Specialized experience is experience that is in or related to this position and provided you with the competencies to perform successfully the duties of this position. Examples of qualifying experience may have been gained by performing technical work in support of management and/or program analysis functions which may have included identifying potential and actual problems and probable causes; researching specific issues; gathering pertinent statistics or information, reporting findings and recommending corrective action for the full scope of a program or function; monitoring, reviewing, and evaluating operations and interrelationships with other functions regarding workflow, work redundancy, or systemic problems; and utilizing database or spreadsheet software to enter, revise, manipulate, sort, calculate, store and retrieve data for use by others.
