Job Description

The Account Manager is r esponsible for the placement and servicing of insurance programs, building and maintaining client and carrier relationships, as well as working with producers and associates to generate new business.

Position responsibilities

Understand and perform marketing and account services to provide the broadest and most competitive quality product for Lockton clients:
  • Understand the client's overall business, operations, and risk management needs; anticipate when and how to respond.
  • Understand industry developments and all products available in the insurance marketplace.
  • Develop and maintain dependable working relationships with carriers and other providers.
  • Coordinate marketing strategies and maintain communication with the account team during the entire marketing process.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with clients to provide the best possible service on a timely basis.
  • Support Account Executives on larger, more complex programs.
  • Demonstrate the ability to instill confidence and comfort with the client.
  • Set marketing strategy and renewal expectations.
  • Create and update coverage specifications.
  • Deliver submission to markets
  • Review quotes and prepare proposals.
  • Arrange and perform renewal presentations to clients.
  • Preparation and delivery of stewardship reports in conjunction with the client team.
  • Respond promptly to the requests and needs of clients and Lockton associates.
  • Make a positive contribution to customer satisfaction and continuously strive to improve service to the customer.
  • Communicate positively and contribute to a cohesive, pleasant team environment.
  • Make decisions in compliance with established Lockton standards of quality performance and service.

  • Bachelor's degree in a business-related program preferred or equivalent education and/or experience. Accounting, business, finance, or legal background preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Directors and Officers (D&O) Liability Insurance, Employment Practice Liability Insurance (EPLI), fiduciary, crime, and Errors and Omissions (E&O) coverages and services required.
  • Experience in marketing and servicing the insurance needs of Commercial and/or FI accounts for D&O, EPLI, fiduciary, crime, and E&O preferred.
  • Current insurance license or the ability to obtain one, as necessary.
  • Ability to compile, analyze, and interpret financial information.
  • Organizational and time management skills to prioritize workloads to meet time sensitive deadlines required.
  • Must have strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills to interact with associates at all levels of responsibility, along with the ability to communicate with tact and diplomacy.
  • Ability to work outside of regular business hours.
  • Ability to travel by automobile and aircraft and be away from home more than one day and night.
  • Legally able to work in the United States.
