Summary
This position is responsible for Treasury management and the international subsidiaries accounting functions and will be the liaison between our accounting team and third-party accounting service providers. This role ensures that month, quarter, and year-end closes are completed on a timely basis in accordance with local statutory and regulatory requirements and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), Sinch company policies, and procedures. Will coach, manage, and develop a team of accountants; work closely with Financial, Planning, and Analysis teams on month-end analysis and reporting to Executive Management.
Responsibilities
Manage various accounting functions that may include but are not limited to the following:
- Manage and partner with our third-party accounting service providers for international accounting and reporting.
- Coordinate, review and ensure all statutory, regulatory and tax filings are completed in a timely manner.
- Oversee foreign subsidiaries accounting for revenue, fixed assets activities, capital lease, SG&A expenditure, reserves, prepayments, accruals, and balance sheet Reconciliations.
- Manage and supervise international and domestic treasury operations and cash activities.
- Prepare and review foreign subsidiaries financial reporting packages. Analyze and explain monthly, quarterly and annual P&L and Balance Sheet variances to historical periods and forecast as applicable.
- Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations & intracompany matching/reclasses.
- Ensure all expenses, and balance sheet items are recorded in a timely and accurate manner, in accordance with local statutory and IFRS requirements.
- Make financial statement decisions by establishing, complying with, and enforcing proper accounting methods, policies, and principles.
- Drive the Accounting team's monthly preparation of financial reporting in the global consolidated financial reporting software and CFO review file, presented to the Executive Management Team.
- Assist in establishing new international subsidiaries. Own the research and documentation for complex and complicated international accounting transactions applicable to conducting businesses in foreign countries.
- Manage the work performed by, growth, and development of the accounting team, including hiring and training new employees as needed.
- Collaborate with colleagues to secure information and resolve issues, including partnering with other groups (e.g., Accounts payable, Network Cost, Engineering and Operations, HR, Payroll, and Information Technology) as it relates to the preparation of accurate financial statements.
- Manage audits and provide requested accounting records and support to the external auditors as requested.
- Support and lead the efforts on any implementation of new accounting standards.
- Improve systems, processes, and procedures, and initiate corrective action.
- Support the design, testing, migration, and implementation of a new ERP system.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in accounting
- Certified Public Accountant preferred.
- Strong accounting and financial analysis skills
- Ability to develop creative solutions to both standard and complicated accounting procedures.
- Highly proficient with Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and v-lookup formulas.
- Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to present to the Executive Management level.
- Three or more years of public accounting experience, including people management.
- Five or more years of industry accounting experience; telecommunications experience a plus
- Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment, including managing priorities to efficiently meet deadlines.
- Experience in accelerating the monthly close process.
