Role Summary


As a senior member of the Global Processes team, you will report to the Global Finance Process Manager and take ownership of various Global processes and assist in leading improvement and standardisation projects. You will be expected to implement new ways of working, help identify best practice, develop and document formal policies and procedures and incorporate internal controls.


You will be a reliable and valued business partner providing finance support and analysis to the Control & FP&A group and various other functions within the organisation, including Sales and Marketing, IT, GP and HR. You will be responsible for developing and implementing world-class financial processes that provide and ensure ongoing compliance and control in areas focused on global GR/IR and Prepay. Also supporting other global process areas, including but not limited to, insurance, internal/external incentives, provisions, exceptional and interco accounting.


Shift Time: 12 PM - 9PM (IST)

What you will do

  • Global GR/IR Account Management and Prepayments:
  • Take ownership of managing and accounting for the Global GR/IR accounts across all functions and legal entities.
  • Take ownership of prepayment process and management of prepayment position across the business.
  • Oversee the monthly accounting and close processes GR/IR and Prepay, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Maintain an accurate balance sheet position, producing comprehensive global balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Review and analyse monthly Accounts Payable cash flow forecasts, ensuring completeness and accuracy.
  • Facilitate accurate accounting and support audit inspections by maintaining transparent and compliant records.
  • Define, meet, manage, and report key performance indicators within owned Service Level Agreements.
  • Monthly presentation of GR/IR position and process improvement opportunities to Global Processes manager.
  • Drive efficiencies and standardisation of GR/IR processes across the business.
  • Business Partnering and Stakeholder communication:
  • Collaborate closely with the Accounts Payable and Global Purchasing Teams to stay informed about activities impacting the accounting process and to enforce best practice surrounding PO and cash management.
  • Partner with global functions, including Marketing, IT, and GFA, to ensure correct accounting for goods receipts and open purchase orders.
  • Build and maintain effective communication with key stakeholders to ensure alignment and transparency in accounting processes.
  • Provide guidance and assistance to ensure understanding of finance procedures.
  • Support other business functions by providing analysis of data as required or requested.
  • Policy and Procedure:
  • Assist in updating policies and procedures to promote best accounting practices.
  • Ensure a robust control environment by implementing and adhering to updated accounting policies and procedures and utilising finance tools to manage and monitor tasks and timetables.
  • Regularly review and maintain up-to-date process documentation appending to tasks and timetables.
  • Identify opportunities for system improvements and process changes to enhance efficiency and accuracy in accounting operations.
  • Proactively seek and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness, especially of but not limited to, purchase order accounting, GR/IR management and Prepayment processes.
  • Stay abreast of industry best practices and regulatory changes to ensure compliance and optimal performance.
  • Analysis and Reporting:
  • Provide monthly, quarterly, and annual financial analysis to other finance functions.
  • Investigate anomalies and provide justifications to key department stakeholders, including FP&A Business Partners, Regional Financial Controllers, and the Global Financial Controller.
  • Provide input into areas of Group accounting as required or requested, ensuring consistency and accuracy across the organization.
  • Audit Support:
  • Collaborate with Regional Controllers and external auditors to provide required information for annual and interim audits.
  • Ensure timely and accurate delivery of audit-related data.
  • Team Leadership:
  • Manage team member individual performance and productivity. Regularly evaluate individual employee job performance through 1 on 1 meetings, providing constructive suggestions for improvement and rewarding accomplishments.
  • Ensure that formal staff performance reviews for team members are conducted according to HR guidelines.
  • Identify the future needs and ensure that your team receive the development and coaching they need, identifying and addressing poor performance and attendance.

What you will bring

  • 5+ years of relevant experience and degree in bachelors/master’s in finance, desirable - ACCA/CIMA Qualified (or equivalent for accounting knowledge)
  • Prior team management / team handling experience of at least 2 years 
  • Working in a high performing finance function
  • Practical experience of all aspects of the month end accounting processes and reconciliations
  • Understanding of the accounting practices and standards under UK GAAP and IFRS
  • Experience in using SAP / ERP system
  • Experience across a broad number of accounting processes
  • Effective communications with key business stakeholders
  • Experience of working in/with global centralised AP/GP functions supporting global actions and initiatives
  • Experience working on Financial systems projects/ the implementation of Financial systems
  • Experience of writing accounting papers to support business decisions and align with the relevant standard
  • Experience of project management
  • Sox compliance
