About the Role

Reporting to the Controller, we are searching for a Manager of Accounts Payable to provide strong leadership to our Accounts Payable function and accounting support for ongoing business operations. The candidate will ensure that the Accounts Payable function operates smoothly, maintains accurate and complete records regarding payments to suppliers, lenders, and employees. As Valo operations continue to grow in scale and complexity, the candidate will establish and maintain best-in-class procure-to-pay workflow and infrastructure.  The candidate will serve as a liaison between the Accounts Payable function and external parties, including lenders, suppliers, and government agencies.  The candidate will also provide overall accounting support, participate in the monthly close process and extend the best practices established in procure-to-pay to other Finance operations.  Our ideal candidate is analytical and process-oriented, with experience in Accounting, Planning, and Accounts Payable administration, a deep knowledge of accounts payable and an interest in building and evolving efficient Accounts Payable processes. We also value integrity, team spirit and strong organizational skills.  In addition, the ideal candidate will have the agility to optimize accounting, and Accounts Payable operations at both the subsidiary and functional cost center level and contribute to setting high operational and technical standards for the Finance team.  The role will have up to 3 direct reports spending approximately 75% on Accounts Payable and 25% on other operational responsibilities each month.  We expect the role will build the Accounts Payable function and manage the team.

You’ll do…Accounts Payable Responsibilities:

• Leading department activities, such as disbursing checks, to ensure that they are completed accurately and on time
• Maintaining accurate and complete financial, employee, and client records
• Compiling, analyzing, and reporting financial information to management and government agencies
• Setting and facilitating the achievement of department objectives
• Developing, implementing and maintaining best-in-class systems (Prendio and NetSuite), procedures and policies, to ensure adherence to company guidelines.
• Building and maintaining relationships with employees, clients, vendors

Operational Responsibilities:

• Assist in the evaluation of system requirements and implement system, software, and hardware solutions
• Assist in the development of planning and forecasting tools and provide business units with timely decision support data
• Oversee lease administration and accounting ensuring the appropriate accounting for rents, taxes and other property expenses
• Assist with the review of contracts and other legal documents to ensure compliance with internal, regulatory and insurance requirements

You Bring…

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Management, or related field
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in Accounts Payable in a multi-state   Extensive knowledge about Accounting, Planning, and Accounts Payable and related control procedures
• Agility to expand your role, scale Accounts Payable administration operations and manage direct reports as Valo grows into a larger, more complex company
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Proficiency with computer applications with a high preference for NetSuite, and Prendio
• Strong planning and problem solving skills
• Motivation to develop and maintain internal and external relationships.
• Commitment to ethical behavior and adherence to all company policies and statutory requirements
• Effective presentation skills for educating internal clients on Account Payable
