Sentara Healthcare is currently hiring a Manager, Actuary!
This is a Full Time position with day shift hours and great benefits!

Primary responsibilities include:
- Managing the accurate and timely data and financial analysis on various actuarial/financial project for pricing of Health Plans offered benefits plan accordingly.
- Lead and mentor to staff and oversee their basic actuarial work
- Manage day to day operations
- Analyze each policy to ensure it will be profitable and beneficial for utilization
- Manage statistical data to analyze, then present findings to government officials, shareholders, executives, and clients.
- Must have knowledge of statistics, probability, and calculus
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to clearly relay information to other employees at the company and the clients.
- Analytical sills to determine specifics of insurance policies and avoid any errors
- Experience with computers and statistical modeling software
- Knowledge of business and financial concepts
- Organizational skills to keep track of multiple projects or cases at a time
- With 1 direct report
Required job qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's Degree
- Experience: 5 years of Actuarial Experience
Licenses & Certifications: Associate of Society of Actuaries required, - Member of the American Academy of Actuaries required
- Health insurance/MCO/Managed Care experience required
Preferred job qualifications:
- Fellow of Society of Actuaries preferred

For applicants within Washington State, the following hiring range will be applied: $ 112,759.92 to $185,806.40/annually and up to 15% Management Incentive.

Job Summary
This person may manage and mentor both actuarial and non-actuarial staff in support of rate development, rate filings, rating factors, IBNR and other financial and actuarial reporting. The Manager, Actuary will also be responsible for monitoring, maintaining, and as needed developing tools used by underwriters. This person should be knowledgeable in general functions of a qualified Health Actuary and be capable in monitoring emerging experience of various products to include at least one of: Large Group and Small Group (both with various funding arrangements), Individual products, Medicaid, Medicare products, Risk Adjustment reporting.
