Manager, Analytics 

 

We Are Seeking: 

The Manager, Analytics will join the Central Analytics + Intelligence team to focus on delivering insightful and impactful analytics core to the marketing and communications objectives of our clients. Ideal candidates will be excited about evangelizing for the analytics discipline and fluent in the various technologies, platforms and best practices that define the online communications and marketing space. 

The position will directly report to and work with the Central office but may support teams across all North American practice areas. This position will be dedicated to several of Weber Shandwick’s largest and most important client relationships.  

In this role, you will be a key contributor to Weber Shandwick’s Analytics Intelligence team, tasked with implementing and developing innovative measurement strategies, leading business intelligence efforts, mentoring a team of junior team members and executing analyses designed to drive deep understanding of consumer behavior and communications performance. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Work with Analytics + Intelligence and cross-function teammates to create visually compelling reporting and insights that allow client to easily evaluate performance relative to business objectives. 
  • Develop and apply strategic measurement frameworks to form the basis of ongoing performance assessment and optimization across paid, earned and owned channels. 
  • Clean, sort, analyze, and interpret data from a variety of sources such as social media, website analytics platforms, and third-party vendors. 
  • Develop report structure and data analyses to provide visualizations, business strategy and actionable insights, including but not limited to:  
  • Conversation analysis (social listening and media intelligence) 
  • Social, campaign and multichannel reporting 
  • Paid campaign analysis and performance audits 
  • Contribute to the design of research/analysis, intelligence gathering, and data collection 
  • Identify patterns and trends that can inform recommendations that shape clients’ marketing strategies. 
  • Work with data analysts to optimize statistical techniques and plan for ongoing reports.

  • Assist in business development activities, including scope design, strategic analysis, slide preparation and work planning. 
  • Maintain strong knowledge of both well-established and new-to-market digital marketing analytics tools and platforms. Use that knowledge to continuous inform and enhance the work. 
  • Evangelize the use of data to inform decision-making at all levels internally and externally with clients and other agency partners. 
  • Educate non-technical account team members on key requests and analysis process. 
  • Mentor new and junior team members 

Basic Qualifications 

  • 5+ years relevant full-time experience; preferably in Marketing Analytics, Consumer Insights, Marketing Science or Performance Marketing fields. 
  • Strong interest and capacity to identify trends, translate data and research into strategic insights, and communicate implications effectively, within allotted deadlines 
  • Be comfortable cleaning, sorting, analyzing, and interpreting large sets of data  
  • Be able to translate data-driven findings into easily understood reports 
  • Previous experience and exposure to digital disciplines (site, CRM, media, etc.) 
  • Experience with statistical concepts and knowledge of Test/Control methodologies 
  • Knowledge of paid media efficiency metrics 
  • Experience in digital programmatic, DoubleClick Manager, Facebook Ads Manager, or other paid social platforms. 
  • Experience using media/marketing intelligence, social listening, social reporting, or other research tools such as: Talkwalker, Meltwater, Cision, Muckrack, Sysomos, Critical Mention, Quid, Brandwatch, Affinio, Comscore, Sprinklr, Sprout, or Mintel. 
  • Experience with data visualization tools including but not limited to: Tableau, Google Data Studio, Domo, Excel, etc. 
  • Experience with relational databases and programming languages such as SQL, R or Python is a plus. 
  • Bachelor’s degree with major in business or STEM preferred, Masters is a plus. 
  • Ability to work independently and in an integrated team setting.

  • Strong critical thinking skills, organizational skills and attention to detail. 
  • Comfort with working in and contributing to a fast-paced, team environment.
