Position Specific Description

Do you want to make a positive impact by ensuring that our operations department is firing on all cylinders and our customers are satisfied? Join NextEra Energy Resource's retail energy division focused on maximizing customer satisfaction through optimal operational performance. The Manager of Analytics and Performance Management will report directly to the Senior Director of Operations. In this role, the manager will be responsible for all analytical and project management functions within Operations. In addition, the qualified candidate will have responsibility for vendor management, performance optimization and cost mitigation strategies. This role will have 4-6 direct reports.

The core duties of this role involve:

  • Writing queries, analyzing data and metric management to drive performance optimization
  • Conducting data analysis and deep dives to support the business
  • Achieve revenue targets for manual billing components
  • Managing complex projects with cross-functional team members
  • Preparing and communicating updates and recommendations through PowerPoint and excel
  • Project management responsibilities, including finishing key projects on time and within budget
  • Achieve all cost targets for operations, including management of the budget for operations
  • Vendor and contract management for key operational vendors
  • Other operational support duties as assigned

Job Duties and Responsibilities Include:

  • Manage all aspects of the day to day billing and transaction management process to ensure all metrics are achieved, including writing queries where appropriate
  • Responsible for managing multiple and complex projects with little direction
  • Act as liaison between internal and external teams to accomplish all regulatory and strategic initiatives
  • Revenue management for all manual billing components, including pass through products
  • Prepare all analytics for any deep dives necessary for the business, including writing all SQL and/or Python queries
  • Independent oversight of core operational teams to ensure key metrics and responsibilities are achieved, including management and creation of KPI metrics
  • Vendor management, including cost oversight and implementing cost reduction initiatives
  • Oversight of the project management function to ensure projects are prioritized correctly, costs are managed, and the business delivers on requests
  • Pro-active identification of performance optimization opportunities for the business
  • Analytical support for the credit and collections and call center departments
  • Ad hoc analytics and deep dives to optimize performance on key issues as necessary
  • Create executive dashboards for key areas to report to executive leadership
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Highly Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's in Accounting / Finance / Business / Engineering / IT or related field
  • Experience - 5+ years leading a team of individuals in a management capacity
  • SQL and other coding languages
  • Previous experience within operations and general understanding of key operational processes
  • PMP or related project management related accreditation

The individual will be responsible for integrating a myriad of data sources in an effort to create information assets vital to operations and critical to enabling more predictive, proactive, and strategic decision-making. This position is responsible for understanding and anticipating the business needs and expectations of both internal and external stakeholders.
