Manager, Art Direction - Teamfight Tactics

As the Art Lead for the Singapore Studio's Teamfight Tactics team, you will leverage your expertise in art direction to manage and oversee work from our partners, serving as their primary stakeholder.

With your exceptional skills in creative direction and strategic art leadership, you will ensure a cohesive IP and maintain high-quality standards across partner contributions. Your broad knowledge of art, craft, and creativity will be instrumental in aligning our partners’ output with Riot’s and TFT’ quality benchmarks. You will set clear expectations and drive to achieve them, while effectively managing stakeholder relationships to ensure satisfaction on all fronts.

Responsibilities: 

 Responsible for working with external partners and managing their work

• Approve or disapprove and help guide cosmetics work submitted by external partners.
• Managing and reviewing work submitted from external partners, across different disciplines. Giving high level feedback such as creativity, IP, cohesion, and final quality.
• Elevating delivery expectations to external partners to align with Riot’s art quality bar.

Enabling a cohesive experience is delivered from the work submitted by external partners

• Setting and creating the high level art style guide, creative documents, and thematic direction, to ensure the art direction is aligned throughout TFT’s IP internally and externally.
• Ensuing work from external parties or vendors hit all creative objectives successfully.

Setting expectations on working with external partners

• Forming healthy and productive rituals for both strategy alignments and art reviews, with art management and producers from external partners.
• Setting the expectations of what is the definition of done.

Required Qualifications:

• Solid understanding of TFT and FFGS’s knowledge, both of its cosmetic and game-play, its community’s feedback, and the overall IP.
• Understanding the League’s IP.
• Strategy focused rather than tactic focused; outcome focused rather than craft focused.
• Motivated by art directing, IP and the overall creative experience.
• Is extremely player focused and have a product-oriented mindset.
• Deft skill on setting high value, impactful art directional documents to enable great player value.
• Understanding what a healthy art production should look like, is able to identify problems and give instructions for partners to improve its process and practices.
• Articulate, good communicator able to communicate abstract/complicated ideas and clear goals, in English
• Can do exceptional stakeholder management, being the ambassador between multiple parties.

Desired Qualifications:

• Knowing how a healthy and efficient art production approach should look like, having experience in collaborating with development managers or producers on content planning and schedule maintenance.
• Have experience on popular game engines in the market such as Unreal and Unity.

• Experience on working with external partners
• Broad experience, working production end to end.
• Fluent in both English and Mandarin
• AAA Feature/Game experience
• World class management and art directing skills
• Frequent business travel between multiple locations
