About the role

Treeline Biosciences is seeking a highly motivated, self-starting, and detail-oriented Manager of Business Development & Analysis. This individual would be joining a collaborative team that oversees business development initiatives for the company, including external asset evaluation, competitive analysis, and relationship management. In addition, this team collaborates with internal program teams to inform clinical strategic planning, novel target and disease area diligence, and budgeting and forecasting. This is a dynamic opportunity for someone interested in working with internal and external stakeholders and shaping the direction of a rapidly growing, early-stage biotech. 

Responsibilities

• Coordinate day-to-day operations of asset-focused business development, including:
  • Source and evaluate external assets / third-party capabilities based on, therapeutic areas or molecular targets of interest
  • Initiate and maintain relationships with potential partners, including large pharma, biotech, and academic collaborators
  • Oversee diligence processes, negotiate confidentiality agreements, coordinate with external advisors, and manage data requests
  • Work with counsel and senior management on potential licensing terms, structure, and financial impact
  • Produce materials to communicate transaction details to colleagues
• Provide colleagues with regular status updates on overall business development initiatives, including weekly business development meetings
• Conduct diligence projects for pipeline assets and novel targets of interest
  • Identify, read and summarize key scientific papers and studies of interest
  • Organize and run interviews with subject matter experts
  • Synthesize information across multiple sources to create a summary document
  • Communicate research and takeaways to senior management to drive program decisions
• Assist in producing corporate materials for prospective investors, partners, and the board of directors
• Assist in corporate financial forecasting and capital formation initiatives, as needed

Qualifications

• B.S. or M.S. degree in a scientific (i.e. Biology, Chemistry, Engineering) and/or business discipline
• 3 to 5 years of experience working in an investment banking, principal investing, strategy consulting, or business development role, with a focus in the biotech industry
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to collaborate across sites and teams
• Experience conducting primary diligence on novel therapeutics; familiarity with the drug development process would be a plus.
• Demonstrated self-starter with ability to exercise independent judgment to solve problems and ability to prioritize effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
• Experience with privately-held biotech company capital structures and capital markets is a plus
• Strong Excel skills and financial analysis background
• Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook is required
• Willingness to travel, as necessary for this role.

This position is classified as exempt. The anticipated annual base salary range for the role is $93,336 to $156,750. The final base salary offered to the successful candidate will be dependent upon several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and length of experience within the job, type and length of experience within the job, education, and other factors. Treeline Biosciences is a multi-state employer, and this salary range may not reflect positions that work in other cities or states.
