Manager, CIM AMP Summary:

Washington National Tax, Manager - Accounting Methods & Periods

RSM's Washington National Tax practice is growing. The accounting methods and periods practice is seeking an experienced candidate to join our group in a manager level position.

This position will provide technical support for tax-saving and risk mitigation opportunities, work with industry-specific teams across the country and globally to identify and develop strategies around emerging technical issues, and train RSM professionals on accounting methods.

In addition to strong tax technical capabilities, the candidate should be prepared to describe training and development skills, project management skills, and collaboration skills across geographies and experience levels.

Specific responsibilities will include:

• Research, address, and consult on technical issues specific to revenue and cost recognition, inventory, capitalization, and cost recovery
• Monitor guidance issued by the Internal Revenue Service/Department of the Treasury and new legislation relevant to tax accounting
• Lead the development of thought leadership and technical training
• Partner with other RSM professionals to introduce and discuss planning opportunities and strategies with external clients
• Integrate with specific tax and industry leaders to identify emerging or relevant technical issues
• Provide quality review of Form 3115 - Application for Change in Accounting Method

Qualifications:

• J.D./Tax LL.M. or CPA
• Excellent research and writing skills
• Proven ability to develop and implement policies and procedures
• Ability to resolve issues quickly; well organized with strong management skills
• 5+ years of experience in tax accounting methods & periods
