The Manager of Client Strategy leads the pre-sales stage of the sales cycle for one or more regions in North America (East/West/Midwest). This includes both Pre-Deal Projects (i.e., PDP) and Deal Response (i.e., RFP).Ā The Manager is responsible for developing and engaging team members, ensuring delivery of quality team outputs and outcomes, partnering cross-functionally to make improvements, and fostering collaboration among Client Strategy Team members.
Measures of success for this role include team member growth and engagement, effective positioning/differentiation of GumGum, Avg Revenue per Deal, RFP Win Rate, Closed Deal Value (i.e., value of won RFPs), Average Deal Size, and quality of partnership to clients and inter.
Note: GumGum currently operates in a āwork from homeā virtual environment with sporadic opportunities for in-person business and morale events (health guidelines permitting). There will not be any requirement to go into the office on a daily basis moving forward, however we are seeking a hire in the East Region surrounding NY, NJ, CT, MA, MD, or PA.
What You'll Achieve
- Develop & Engage team members to deliver quality team outputs
- Give real-time feedback, support, guidance, coaching to direct reports.
- Map career growth with direct reports, create/identify opportunities for growth, remove barriers, and facilitate career exploration/learning.
- Identify areas to efficiently improve output quality and address/implement (at team and individual levels).
- Foster ownership and accountability by role and individual.
- Oversee all $300K+ RFPs (QA review required; brainstorm/help as needed).Ā
- Work with Lead Strategists to prioritize and assign PDPs (Pre-Deal Projects).
- Partner cross-functionally to make optimizations to process
- Seek perspectives from team members, and actively listen.
- Understand needs of the business, opportunities pain points, and proactively recommend solutions to colleagues at all levels (eg. SVP, Director, peers, etc.)
- Communicate team progress and impact on the business, both up (to leadership) and down (to team members).
- Partner with Sales Leaders and Operations team leads to problem-solve, strategize, and create new revenue opportunities.
- Lead Client Strategy team to service the client experience as a member of the Customer Success org
- Shape, communicate, execute on, actively evaluate, and continuously refine the Client Strategy Teamās vision.
- Connect the dots between Pre-Deal and Deal Response efforts, to eliminate account-level information silos and maximize value for clients.
- Lead and innovate upon team reporting, processes, resources, and communication.
- Facilitate collaboration among Client Strategy team members.
Skills You'll Bring
- Bachelorās degree in business or a related discipline.
- 8+ years of work experience, ideally in media buying, sales, customer success, business development, or marketing, either in high growth tech companies or agencies

- Solution-selling, to craft impactful insights and results for clients
- Ability to manage expectations, influence, and be a thought partner
- Has a coaching and growth mindset, relentlessly focused on the growth and engagement of team members

- A project manager and storyteller with the energy and skills to quickly and effectively communicate mutually beneficial solutions to clients
- A problem solver who can identify and communicate client needs, and internally bring clarity, simplicity, and collaboration to drive solutions
