Job Description
Position Summary:
As a Cloud Operations Manager, you will play a critical role in maintaining and optimizing our cloud infrastructure to meet the demands of a 24/7 operating environment. The Cloud Operations Manager will lead a team in efforts in monitoring, incident response, and performance optimization. Collaboration with cross-functional teams and the implementation of automation and DevOps practices will be key as you contribute to the overall success of our cloud operations. Â This is a hybrid role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide supervision, professional development and coaching to a technical team.Â
- Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of our cloud infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and cost effectiveness.
- Manage cloud resources efficiently to support the needs of a 24/7 operating environment.
- Implement and enforce security best practices to safeguard our cloud-based applications and data.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations related to data protection and privacy.
- Implement robust monitoring solutions to proactively identify and address potential issues.
- Lead incident response efforts and collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve incidents in a timely manner.
- Work closely with development and operations teams to optimize the performance and scalability of our cloud-based applications.
- Plan and execute strategies for scaling resources based on business requirements.
- Implement automation processes to streamline deployment, configuration, and management of cloud infrastructure.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) practices.
- Design, implement, and oversee cloud security measures to safeguard operations against threats.
- Develop and enforce security policies, procedures, and practices in alignment with cloud security standards and regulations.
- Monitor cloud logs, and security incidents, and conduct regular security assessments and audits.
Skills and Experience Needed:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or other related field.Â
- 3-5 years of hands-on experience in managing cloud environments in a B2B SaaS context.
- Proven experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Strong understanding of cloud architecture, including virtualization, networking, and storage.
- Proficient in scripting and automation tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible, Python).
- Experience managing an operations team in a 24/7 cloud environment.
- Demonstrated ability to implement high-availability solutions.
- Knowledge of cloud security best practices and experience implementing security controls in a cloud environment.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
