Position Summary

The CNC Manager organizes and oversees the smooth and efficient operation of the CNC machining department. Must have a very strong knowledge of CNC manufacturing activities and a deep understanding of CNC equipment. The CNC Manager is responsible for the health and safety, quality, delivery, and financial performance of the department. Requires excellent communication skills to effectively communicate with internal stakeholders and Customers.

Duties

  • Review and approve estimates of machining jobs to ensure machine capacity, labor capacity, and tooling/materials are available to meet requested delivery requirements.
  • Oversee production and resolve identified delivery issues.
  • Organize departmental workflows to ensure machining production meets specifications and delivery expectations and implement improvement activities when they do not.
  • Supervise and evaluate performance of machining personnel.
  • Submit annual budget recommendations and ensure department meets established budget requirements.
  • Determine and plan for necessary infrastructure resources to successfully complete department requirements.
  • Approve department maintenance work, prepare, and submit CAPEX requests, and oversee installation of new equipment.
  • Ensure that department output meets quality objectives.
  • Enforce all health and safety guidelines.
  • Report to upper management on department production and financial performance

Education Degree

Bachelor's Degree

Required Experience

  • 4+ years in a CNC manufacturing environment that includes 3+ years of supervisory experience.
  • CNC machining experience
  • Demonstrated leadership and initiative.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with Customers and Suppliers.
  • Working knowledge of Oracle, Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, and E2 (preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of CNC mill and lathe machining.
  • Understanding and using G&M codes.
  • Demonstrated communication skills.
  • Understanding P&L statements.
