Manager Communications, Storytelling & Content
Job Description
The Product Communications team is looking for a Manager Communications, Storytelling & Content to join the team in Franklin, TN. The team is looking for a creative storyteller with a passion for understanding and promoting all aspects of the business with enhanced focus on Nissan's mission to drive innovation through electrification and safety.
Job Functions:
- Lead the development and ongoing refinement of NNA's enterprise storytelling strategy
- Drive the creation of stories and content, from story mining to distribution, in alignment with communications goals and objectives
- Coordinate with team responsible for technology and safety storytelling
- Lead brainstorms with cross-functional teams to create and fill an annual editorial calendar
- Joins calls monthly calls with global team in support if story mining
- Serve as a liaison between marketing and communications to ensure continuous integration and produce incremental story and content creation opportunities
- Attend NNA all relevant marketing meetings - become the "point" of coordination along with Corporate Communications team
- Coordinate with Corporate Communications team on executive awareness activities, DEI team, etc.
- Interface with Nissan Design America (NDA), Nissan Motor Acceptance Corporation (NMAC) and dealer relations team
- Coordinates with Digital Communications team to secure coverage on NNA's "Nissan Stories" media site and coordinate opportunities with NML / other regions on global storytelling opportunities
- Provide direction and counsel to the communications team regarding storytelling angles of Nissan product and brand media activities
- To oversee the Technology and Safety Communications position, coordinating messaging, personnel development, etc.
- With the Sr. Manager, develop and execute communications plans in support of dealer relations/communication activities, NMAC and NDA activities
- Develop media and influencer "pitches" to increase viewership of stories and content
Minimum Qualifications
- Job Knowledge and Skill: Knowledge of media-relations protocol and effective methods of disseminating product information to the public; the ability to provide positive, professional representation before the media and public; strong oral and written communication skills and stand-up presentation skills. Ability to build effective relationships with key stakeholders and interface with all staff levels. Creativity and a willingness to share new ideas. Skilled at managing through ambiguity. Juggler - manage multiple projects and perform well under pressure. Ability to manage multiple daily, short-term and long-term deadlines and priorities simultaneously. Excellent efficiency, accuracy, organization and attention to detail. Experience in 'managing' agency teams and working cross-functionally in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
- Experience: Eight (8) or more years of directly related professional level Communications experience, which could include experience in the news media. Automotive media relations preferred.
- Supervisory Experience: Two (2) or more years of managing a team of direct reports or agency personnel.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in a related Communications discipline required. Advanced degree is a plus.
- Computer Skills: Working knowledge of word processor, spreadsheet, other PC applications, or mainframe applications to produce non-standard, creative products. Comfortable in most common social media platforms - Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc.

- Travel Requirements: 25% overnight travel. Availability needed for occasional work weekend and nights to host/participate in various Nissan events
